        Before that it was hell.
So, if you are a responsible user you should go ahead. If you are one of the people who seem to collect apps which they never do use and cram up the phone... you shouldn't. At least till the new update is available.
One of the problems I had was with the image gallery but after checking SD card for errors it become ok.
With is ICS I got a major problem fixed: Wi-fi connection. It worked great at my house, at work and on the streets but for some reason it kept loosing connection to my brother's router. Now it is ok.
There is some (a lot) of lag for the dialler and for and for the contacts app.
I removed PicoTTS, Wisepilot and some other stuff the operator put in and then I was just fine. Of course with the new update things will be much better.

Isn't it better to skip some minor updates and get ICS (even if a bit buggy) and then have this update that makes ICS ok and not spend any time with 2.3.7?
Remember they could had done 2.3.7 and still when they latter did the 4.0.4 it could turn out buggy anyway and then precious time and money would be wasted.
I like that they skipped minor updates, including ICS 4.0 and 4.0.3 which were buggy no matter what company and went straight to 4.0.4 which was better than the previous build.
I prefer to be updated fewer times but good or when they don't change the android number but actually solve problems than have an up to date OS which in fact carries nothing significantly new or relevant.
I do get your point but think they did will in skipping some android no.

AnonD-9017, 24 Aug 2012I have to say to you that my Arc is pretty stable on ICS. ... moreYou were quite right there, but you didn't get my point, what I don't like about Sony is why didn't they give us the GB update 2.3.7 like that of Xperia P/S instead rather than the ICS update which is not bug free or Performance not up to the mark. To be honest i didn't updated my phone to ICS bcoz of the bad reviews of not only this one but also in other phones like Xperia P/S and so i stayed in GB. If they gave us GB update and waited for some time for the better ICS like u mentioned then we wouldn't have many issues that we have now, would we? For their reputation of one nd only company to give ICS to 2011 smartphones they are releasing versions which are not satisfying the customers.

There is a bit of lag for the dialler and contacts but it is stable.
Deleted some of the bloatware and as apps received some updates it become stable. Maybe the problems was not all due to firmware but also to apps.
Maybe if people didn't talked so much about sony taking time to upgrade we would get even better updates although taking a bit longer.
I to prefer stability over «last minute android» which I don't even know Why I want it but I do...

I as a consumer expect the most out of what I'm buying and in this time of financial hardship we should all be getting the most we possibly can from these major companies. I wanna see these companies work hard for my money and for u to say that Sony have done enough makes me laugh Sony have been very sloppy with there devices and compatibility between them. For example my arc s wont connect to my amplifier but hold on I can connect an iPhone to it and it brings up the display on my tv screen witch I can control with my remote! Sony haven't done enough in my book to continue haveing my cash. This to me shows Sonys lack of thought and why so many people are turning there backs on them for companies who make all there devices work together and with regular updates to!

We want a stable update like GB atleast if they give GB 2.3.7 update like that of Xperia S/P we'd be appreciated.
