windows phone never intended to cut the share of iOS. what their target is to gain the android title which is very imposible. android can be equal to iOS. but windows phone? honesly i am very disappointed with windows phone. it is far from what i imagine before. the grind view is quite annoying. you cant even make any folder out. lack of multitasking. unlike iOS/android they have this settings and cool features.i can say BADA is better than this one

I agree
They put a quad core cpu and gigs of ram and advanced graphic chips and then they play angry birds and etc that you can play on a single core 600mhz phone
thats just a competition on nothing useful

after read most of your coments here, i found that you are talking about numbers, and you should know that numbers can be played with, and guet the desiered result, it's just math.
so what i would like to read here is about the good or bad experience with wp8, because i had a really good experience with nokia phones withj symbian os and i prefer that os over ios or android, but i agree that if nokia by any miracle choose a droid for any phone it will be the best combination ever, as both reached a 1st place among the best of the best on their field for a good time.

Anonymous, 22 Aug 2012What exactly can WP8 change? It's still a Windows Phone.
D... moreWhat are you talking about?
The resolution charts for PureView are flattering when compared to other phones.
And WP8 is a different kind of OS, thanks to its Core sharing with desktop version.
Sure there wont be a lot of ARM windows software at release, but that will probably grow pretty quickly, as ARM makes a very good solution for computers you carry with you.
Sure when iOS got the app-store, that was a huge move forward for iOS, as it then could kinda for the first time be called a smartphone OS. But the shift wasnt as great as from WP7 to WP8.

Theres still hope for Nokia.. And honestly, I never really thought that Windows Phones are good, but when I tried one of my friends Nokia 800, well, its quite impressive. Fresh, and quite simple but not boring.. As a matter of fact, I'm having second thoughts of moving from Android to Windows, if the WP8 turn it out to be good.

... moreYeah I totally agree with you, people with limited mind only know how to read a spec sheet and the phone has to be an Android one... Put a quad core, Gigs of RAM, 1000 PPI display and Android and booooooom! There is a WOW phone for them... They are unable to see that WP8 is not only bringing the fancy hardware like Android but an ecosystem which has a population that of 5 USAs plus the developers' and Direct X support with 145 years of Nokia's unmatched legacy!
But I still want Symbian and MeeGo to remain alive... People should have choices... Still there are lots of people who are symbianized and N9ed...

EskeRahn, 22 Aug 201259% of 2.7%, is 1.6% of the world market...
Really impress... moreIn first 9 months of Android Cupcake 1.5, it only had a 2.8 percent share worldwide out of which Samsung only had a 0.7 - 0.9 percent share... So that's a double *ROFL* I guess?
And that 2.8 percent is from this

Nokia never had an OS that required that much of processing power and memory... Symbian was always resource friendly and WP had restrictions... When it was required with MeeGo they provided 1 Gig of RAM and a Ghz processor...

That board meeting must have been priceless.
Elop: Right, we're going to use Windows 7 as out new main OS. It's going to be great, just like iOS.
Board: But it's over 6 months away from being ready, what shall we do in the meantime
Elop: Oh don't worry, I'm going to announce to the world that Symbian and Meego are finished.
Board: Erm, without a backup? You DO realise that this will affect our sales if people think that those OS's are effectively dead?
Elop: Nah, we'll just backtrack if that happens..
