What is strange is that it seems the EDGE+ has more often screen issues than the cheaper EDGE, so I wonder if the latter has a different brand screen.

I had a Motorola edge. Owned it for about 10 days. you can hold the phone in the palm of your hand without the screen getting all wonky. How are you supposed to grip this phone? If Motorola truly wants to come out with a flagship model, they have to do better than this.

And it... moreIt's available in the UK, it was late arriving but as soon as the display problems became well known they tried to dump them off in more countries.
These phones have the most fundamentally flawed displays ever, green tints, purple blotches and repeating images are incredibly common and still being reported in December 2020 - these phones are a definite loser.
And all of that thanks to Samsung.

How is the Motorola Moto G Pro in the looser section?
It's very well priced in Europe (less than 180Euro). It's in the Android One program and will get 2 major versions (Android 12) with also timely security updates, in comparison to the "better" models like the G9 Plus (has an 730G SoC, but will only get Android 11 & +1yr security update), has an aluminium body, FHD+, Laser Auto-focus, 128GB internal memory, clean UI, integrated Stylus and stereo speakers.
The only negative about it is the relative "slow" SD665 SoC. But in relation to it's price it has way more to offer than 90% of similar prices smartphones.

The display should've been left at 1080P
Instead of the macro they should've left the ultrawide camera and let it do macro shots
Instead of the depth sensor, they should've left the telephoto camera

And it... moreEdge+ like One Fusion+ is widely available (only) in Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
However, Edge+ is bad phone so Western Europe misses nothing, and yes, its and Edge's OLED panels are the bottom of the barrel.
