Cyberchum, 28 Dec 2020Same, here. I don't understand the craze for bigger an... moreThey are not that much bigger..note the width is always in the 73 to 75mm range Oppo Realme Xiaomi Poco VIVO you name it...they fiddle around with the ratios to get that same narrow profile. 6.8 is a far cry from what 6.8 used to be...a real 6.8? look at the Asus Zenfone 3 ultra-ignore for the moment the overall dimensions as it had a huge upper and lower boundary but just see the screen size and area. 127 sq cm for the 6.8" z3 ultra versus 112 sq cm for mi11 ...a purported 6.8 inch "massive" screen LOL
In fact go further and look at vivo nex 3/3s...supposedly 6.89 let's say 6.9 inches for laughs...measure the actual flat area of the screen just around 71mm! narrower than some of the older 6.4 inch phones like the original mi mix which is not even going that far back. much of that fake diagonal measurement goes in wrapping around the sides.(a projection onto a plane)

Dude, if we can't criticize manufacturers for making stupid moves, they'll consider themselves geniuses. They are like children.
I would have loved to make a smartphone company so I can make a phone for the techie/audiophile crowd but no manufacturing company wants to help me so I had to give up on that idea.

Cyberchum, 28 Dec 2020Same, here. I don't understand the craze for bigger an... moreCompanies study the market.
The sales of small phones started to decline years ago. Ppl use more often phones to watch youtube, playing games etc ...
They know the demand for small phones is not enough to keep them. Did you know iphone 12 Pro Max is better seller than 12 Mini despite it costs 2x ?

Shadocx, 28 Dec 2020I totally agree with him, phones are getting too big, 6&quo... moreWow. Nice comment. For me, I have giant hands. The bigger, the better. These foldable should get much bigger, like 12", that would be perfect for us who multi-task on the go. About the hands, didn't laugh at all. Today's flagships are huge, maybe someone will contemplate the small hands one day, like the iPhone SE, iPhone Mini, Z-Flip, let's see the day the prices come down to the $600 territory. However, to complain about a flagship that has traditionally launched in the 6.5+" territory makes little sense, don't you think?

Anonymous, 28 Dec 2020I swear some people out there only for complaining about an... moreWhat's the problem with criticizing a product? Should we take it and shut up? Can't we have our opinions on what we think should be better or what is wrong. We can be wrong but we have a right to our opinions and right to criticize you know?
That's one of the purposes of the comments sections: we give our opinion, we criticize or we praise. If you can't take it, don't read it.

Cyberchum, 28 Dec 2020Same, here. I don't understand the craze for bigger an... moreI'm with you.
I've decided to start my phones searches with weight which was what led me to huawei p30 (165g) and currently mi 9 (175g). Sadly, no mi 10 for me cos it's just too heavy. Mi 9 is actually a bit too long but i had to compromise on the 6.1 to 6.2 inch line.
Samsung s10 and s20 as well as iPhone 12s are the next things to consider if nobody drops anything light and compact by the time I'm ready to drop this phone

I assume you do. So a modern smartphone have a list of components and every components have different specs and choices from different brands. And you can make many many combinations for each of your choices.
There are literally thousands of possible phones a manufacturer can build anytime.
But market have limited amount of manufacturer and each manufacturer have limited amount of models for a given time.
Cry me a river if you your exact dream phone doesn't exists. Get a life.

If xiaomi wants to conserve the environment then they should sell the phone without the box, nobody needs that.

Add QHD, 40W minimum charging and you will find nada, is this okay?

jarane, 28 Dec 2020Why would you still want a headphone jack in 2021?What has 2021 got to do with the jack? I'll still pick up a phone with jack over one without it everyday and twice on black Fridays.
I have two pairs of wireless earbuds, but I hardly use them. Still preferred my wired. I'd get it if you preferred the wireless, but both could easily live alongside each other. Why, then, do you hate on the jack? Dumb!

I swear some people out there only for complaining about anything and everything they can think about.
That particular company created two flagships past two years which equipped with audio jack, interrupted flat bezelless screen.
Yet he complains about the jack, curved screen and punchole. Claims there are no choice. Just unbelievable.
You don't like punchole and curved edges? Get a Poco F2 Pro. You don't like OLED? Get a Mi 10T Pro. You don't like Snapdragon 865? Wait a bit more and get another phone. You don't like Xiaomi? Get a phone from another brand. Do you think it's not cheap? Get a cheaper phone. You don't like it doesn't have IP rating? Get a phone with water and dust resistance.
Is there anybody actually remember with a phone launch without complaints?
No phone is perfect yet they are fine enough, but some people are mentally broke. Apparently they can't satisfy with anything.
