Most People bought the Poco F2 pro for how cheap it was.
They didn't buy it for the pop up camera.

jakov1, 29 Dec 2020What does that have to do with the Mi 11 Pro? Why are you c... moreLook at the K20 and Mi 9T couple, and tell me there are no correlations, for all we know, their Mi 11T Pro could be the one who has a pop up over any Redmi or Poco. M
And even if they continue with the Mi series without pop up and only have a Redmi and a Poco with it, the Mi still charge a lot of things with the Redmi and Poco, nothing prevents them from making a good camera setup to use across the main brand and sub-brands.
Plus, it is a good setup I described, why are you mad that I hope a phone will have a good setup, that I use it or not?

Android Authority, 29 Dec 2020Where did you get the news that Poco F3 pro will have pop u... moreAll their pop up phones, Mi 9T/Mi 9T Pro, K20, K20 Pro, K30 Pro, Poco F2 Pro, along with other brand's phones with pop up like the Vivo Nex, the OnePlus 7 Pro/7T Pro, Asus Zenfone 6/7/7 Pro (flip up, but same anti notch/hole fight), and others, all had huge success, the almost entire pop up Smartphones owners are really satisfied by it.
And not even talking about how stupid, ugly and non ergonomic the punch holes and notches are, for the benefits and the love of the pop up, it would be a stupid idea to drop it.
There aren't any conclusive evidence that they will drop it, I am not saying they won't, but I am saying it would be a highly stupid idea that will make a dent on their revenues.
They have literally no reasons to drop it.

That's why most of the companies introduce two or more flagships usually consist of a vanilla flagship and an upgraded/larger flagship. Apple introduced iphone 12 mini for ppl who preferred a smaller phones and 12 pro max for ppl who preferred larger phones.

The Samsung 108mp hmx sensor in the mi 11 may be a year old, but Samsung is yet to replace it with one that is quad Bayer, and therefore 27mp. The pixel 5 used a several generations old sensor. Processing matters a lot.
As to why phone makers stick with 12mp for the flagships, I am not sure whether that's done to the extreme computational photography processing or 12mp is a diffraction limit for small sensors.

There is no such thing as a proper flagship.
Pro will be more costly and will be too expensive for some people. And vanilla version will be lack of some features thus won't be a viable choice for some others.
Vanilla buyers won't throw up their phones when Pro have released.
The manufacturer apparently tries to cover more grounds
Yesterday some people here were complaining about that limited amount of choice. And of course today some others thinks that there are too many choices.
Nothing is going to waste. If Xiaomi don't make it, some other company certainly will.
