T-money, 04 Jan 2021Buuulll shiiii*, Buuulll shiiii*, Buuulll shiiii*.... If... moreThat's not enough anymore, Samsung has a name and a ton of money to advertise their stuff.

Being "better then" is enough, Samsung would need to fail multiple times in a row (Nokia is a great example) to maybe fall hard enough and make someone else take over.

Problem is that Samsung is also a supplier of many parts other brands use, so even if Samsung fails they have the money to keep trying over and over again.

Samsung is more difficult to kill compared to Nokia, because they (Samsung) do so much more than phones only.

Peter UK, 04 Jan 2021What are you talking about? Remember Nokia? Nokia their main focus was network technology and phones, the latter failed.

Even if Samsung their phone division dies now, they produce so many other products by them self and supply so many othet stuff (screens, flash memory, storage) to other companies, it is much harder for Samsung to die just because their phone division failed.

Compared to Nokia, Samsung does more than (mostly) phones only.

If there were more legit competition in the smartphone market, Samsung would be out of business

No it is near impossible for them to die because of this, sadly but true.

Meanwhile it is so ironic that the phone with the most amount of storage will have the option to expand it...

Digging their own grave Samsung! Can't wait to see them fail on the market each year from now on :-)

I remember 2015 Galaxy flagship phones didn't come with a microSD card, a lot of people weren't happy about that. I can see a similar effect to this, in fact, it's already happening.
