According to State Department statistics, in the 2010/2011 academic year 14,596 U.S. students were studying in China, fifth behind the United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and France. There were 283,332 American students studying abroad for credit in 2011/2012.

And that's 10 years ago and imagine that's with language barrier in between. China has some up and coming world class institutions like Tsinghua and Peking Universities.

Why would you not consider China? In a few years time. It will be the largest economy in the world (already is in PPP terms). Studying there just open up so many avenues for youngsters.

It is simple: If Sweden leaves Huawei out of its 5G bids, China will retaliate and kick Ericsson out of its business over there as well. And no one wants to lose huge contracts with China, so it is seen as a small price to pay.

NotAnOpinion, 05 Jan 2021That's nonsense and Ericsson is a puppet to China. ... moreHuawei has been doing business in Europe for 20 years with zero evidence of espionage. If there was some solid evidence the US would have produced it by now.

The IP theft case against Huawei is also weak. Again produce some evidence. You can point to at most 3-4 allegations over the past 30 years. That is a pretty good record. Many companies of Huawei's size have many more lawsuits alleging IP theft than this.

China's human rights issues are well known: arbitrary detentions, one child policy etc. I don't hold Chinese companies responsible for the actions of the state.

The Russian SolarWinds hack showed that a country doesn't need to produce anything to hack into someone's networks.

The Huawei bans are pure propaganda that hurts the semiconductor industry in the US to the benefit of the EU, Japan and Korea. Impairs the 5G rollout. And hurts consumers by reducing choice.

Anonymous, 05 Jan 2021yeah because the USA sends their students to Chinese school... moreWell the loans part the US definitely does offer predatory loans through the World Bank which is based in Washington, and controlled by the US.

Whenever the receiving country gets into some financial trouble, the US insists that they: sell off public assets, raise taxes, and implement austerity.

We have now seen 2 times in the recent past that when the US gets into some financial trouble they: slash taxes, do government bailouts instead of fire sales, and massively increase deficit spending.

Exact opposite of the "advice" that the World Bank coerces receiving countries to do. Funny how that works.

Of course the electoral college needs a change but the was no fraud. People are informed enough to want Trump out. If there was cheating, McConnell and Graham would not have kept their jobs.

[deleted post]So does USA spy on everyone. Same goes to Russia that spies on everyone. What does it matter who spies more or less ? Every country is spying on everyone if they are able to do so. It just makes no sense that for some reason USA is better ? How exactly ? They go to war with other countries all the time for better price of resource same as any other country. What makes one country better on this ? In history my country was allies with USA before ww2 but what good was that ? In the end of ww2 they still gifted us to Russia and we were in the time bobble of 50 years under soviet union and not by choice

Ericsson Stock - Long term buy and hold.

This makes very perfect commercial sense.

A synergy with Huawei to secure the captive markets, 5 Eyes and India, some 2 billion people, with Huawei franchises under licenses and Huawei supplies, the best and the lowest costs.

EU Security has cleared Huawei on national security in EU. Hence EU has officially declared the US ban on Huawei is based a lie. Once Ericsson has cleared Huawei in Sweden, Ericsson can proceed with Huawei in 5 Eyes and India with Huawei franchises and under licenses, with Huawei supplies, the best at very low costs. A market of some 2 billions. Huawei will not be able to enter these countries anyway. But Ericsson can and will.

US telecom is Developing world standard and Australia telecom is Third world standard. And both are very expensive. Ericsson with Huawei, will bring 21st Century technology to these countries at an exceptionally low costs to Ericsson. But Ericsson can still sell at market, i.e. at high premiums. Ericsson will support Huawei to dominate the whole world with these franchises, while laughing all the way to the bank.

And Ericsson has found a long term high tech synergy partner who can R&D to get breakthroughs at extremely low costs and can manufacture excellent products at ridiculously low costs. Sweden will be a very attractive token to Huawei, despite its tiny size.

Why is it that even with actual evidence of voter fraud (proven by both sides) that ol' sleepy Joe Biden doesn't address the fact that it's a flawed system and they will look into preventative measures for the future.
Also, what about good old Hillary blatantly saying that if Russia backs Trump why can't China back Biden? And where did the voting machines go after the election... if you guessed China your'e right.

It's not the countries choice where the work is being done. China (apparently) manipulates the country that needs the work done to use chinese workers only. Efficient or not they should use the local workforce. And the chinese are no more efficient than any other person who's willing to work for food from an impoverished country.
