NSA doesn't use backdoors. A deliberate backdoor is a risk to their own work.
The NSA stores everything, encrypted, as potential leads to find threats and all of their connections. They will brute force decode any data they need. It's not that complicated when you have access to all known and most unknown exploits in the world and unlimited processor power to get it done.
