65W USB-C charger for Samsung photographed

11 January 2021
This tops the previous 45W power brick by quite a margin. But will the Galaxy S21 Ultra support 65W charging or is this meant for laptops?

Two batteries of 2000mAh each uses more space than single 4000mAh.

i0S...Never...Again, 11 Jan 2021You again.... blaming Chinese battery charging technology? ... moreAccording to you a company that 5 years ago was selling laptops that use much faster charging than phones does not know how to deal with it? (My 8 y.o computer uses 90W)
Thanks for this very ignorant comment ...

    Look at Apple products.
MacBook Pro has 61W, while iphone just 20W.
Gonna say Apple cant handle more than 20?

As long batteries use lithium, it is gonna die sooner as charging speed increses.

Companies like Samsung, Oppo, Vivo , Huawei and Xiaomi know they can make tons of money replacing batteries.
They do not care if your phone loses 500-600 mAh per year.

Where is the evidence that two batteries take more space?
They take the same space and are almost glued to each other.
Stop spreading lies about fast charging technology simply because you hate Chinese products.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2021Maybe because they may not be interested in having two batt... moreSony is the one using inferior batteries which aren't designed to handle 65W load.
Cheap quality batteries starting degradation around 300-400 charging cycles.

Mi had to specially designed Li batteries which can handle higher Watt charging.
They also start degradation very late at around 800 cycles.

Your €1200 "No one cares" Phone giving cheap quality batteries. You should be ashamed of your favorite brand. This is why Chinese manufacturers wiped out Sony and others from the market.

Mi 11 seems to be having heating problems even when running benchmarks.
That phone seems doomed. Don't blame fast charging for its heating problem.
OnePlus and others keeping temperatures very cool despite 65W charging.
Don't worry, you'll get it on your Sony a decade later.
Just because your Sony is incompetent company not able to figure out fast charging tech doesn't mean fast charging is bad.
Keep Supporting Outdated 21W garbage Ewww...

Ppl surely like to damage their battery... in one year a 5000 mah battery will act like 2500 mah. 20-40 is sufficient.

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2021Samsung pretty poor in fast charging gameProbably because most people don't care. Whether its 30W or 45W, its fast enough for 99% of people. Only a minority care about this charging-rate spec war

Anonymous, 11 Jan 2021Samsung pretty poor in fast charging gameMaybe because they may not be interested in having two batteries inside the phone instead of one, which uses even more space.
Also, good luck changing the batteries before you buy new phone.

Videos on youtube show mi11 at 65 celsius degrees while charging.

                        So that is something.

I can say that 65W charging on my OnePlus 8T is incredible. It FEELS like a 2020 phone should feel.

300$, right? For something that should be included with the phone supporting it!

A very good question would be how much that sucker will cost. And will it be sold separately or not.

Guessing it's going to be sold separately. I doubt it's going to come with the S21. Apple dropped the charger, no Xiaomi has dropped it (but free if you ask {china only?}). So my guess is Samsung going to drop it. Hope I'm wrong though.

Mine is from 2012, it has 90W.
