Anonymous, 30 Aug 2012the sepecs are great but the design could have been more in... morePlease tell me, if you've ever bought a laptop, did you base your purchase on how the device looked when it was closed? Did you buy your last television based on the contours of its back? Do you worry about how the underside of your car appears to the road?

The Galaxy Note II is a dynamic and flexible mobile media tool. Nearly all of its front face is display. Whatever else would you be looking at when it is powered up and in use? The rest of the device’s exterior is simply a cabinet to cover the internals and to hold the display.

If I go out to buy a hammer, I choose the one that will best strike my target. I don't worry about how fancy it looks when I'm not using it.

You know you have a great product when the other fanbois (mainly apple) cant wait to bag it out.

I have a note and will get the note 2 in grey asap for the following reasons.

The quad core processor with 2GB ram will give the fastest performance of any current phone.

The wider 5.55" 16:9 screen will be more suited to my uses.

The 3300mah battery should give great life.

Jellybean is awesome having tried it on a nexus 7 and will remove the occasional stutter of the note.

Side by side I think it looks a lot nicer than the note (personal opinion) plus its thinner and narrower.

      With 64gb + 64gb card i will have 128gb storage (su$k on that apple).

It now has 4G and NFC (su$k on that apple).

On the so called down sides.

      1) A 8MP camera on a small sensor will give better results than 12MP. (do some research peoples)

      2) The screen has a slightly lower resolution but it is no longer pentile therefore the screen will be equally as sharp and most likely sharper than the note. (do some research peoples)

Overall its the best phone announced and that's why other phone users are trying to knock it.

      HATE AWAY HATERS :-)

Anonymous, 30 Aug 2012the sepecs are great but the design could have been more in... moreThey are meant to be like an bigger version of the other: Note II is the bigger version of the already big flagship SIII, as the Note was a bigger SII

Yes, it's a diferent phone, with a litle more powerfull processor and twice the RAM, but it's like the original Note was to the SII.

nooo, hell NO! LOWER RES than my Note1? PASS! Take your extra 1gb of RAM (since i never even got close to max out the 1gb) and take your extra 600mAh back (it cant make the phone pass 2 days anyway) and I'll keep the OLD Note with awesome specs and the highest resolution in the market.

The first galaxy note was a laggy piece of junk. My s2x runs much smoother.

ok! This is just another yearly update.. It is more powerful and a bit change in this and that.. since the king of camera phone nokia OS die long ago, Sammy no need to stress out showing high mpl camera and put the money to power their "phoneblet"(word just learn from preview post).. so, if you are not a heavy user and looking for all around update,.. come on.. you should know the smartphone game now.. there're never never never flagship.. king of phone anymore.. they always save the better tech to keep you hungry, as a consumer end user buy right what you want in good price..^^

James, 30 Aug 2012I have a Note 1 and while it is good, it is still not a net... moreI have had issues with ICS too, what issues did you have and how did you resolve

                              Cool phoneblet!!
but I dont get some people...what other way is there to shape a phone, tablet, phoneblet? Apart from rectangular with smooth edges, what other way?
Why you want Samsung to come out with a smartphone, tablet that looks like a pyramid or triangle with sharp edges? whats the difference between iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S
And with the specs on Note 2 is much ok. The 8mp is still good for it....if you want a higher mega pixel go buy a DSLR CAMERA....12mp dosent mean it take great pictures. Remember that Samsung also manufactures digital cameras and can do 12,13, 16 or 18 mp if they want to or even better. But there is a good reason why they use still 8mp for Note 2. Dont be disappointed, cos this is a small device and you dont expect them to put Super computers specs in it...If you dont like it dont buy it, as simple as that.

I have a Note 1 and while it is good, it is still not a netbook replacement, so just remember the Android system does have limitations. I will certainly get a Note 2. The only issue I had with the Note 1 was the mess caused by upgrading to ICS but for its intended purpose when traveling I am happy with it together with my BB9900 as the primary mobile. Be careful with its size as I also broke the screen, my fault, but great device, wonderful for one on one presentations.

Anonymous, 29 Aug 2012Are you staid that Apple Inc appends remarkable features to... moreFirst off: I never said iPhones were better than Samsung phones. Apple, Samsung, HTC and all the other current smartphone manufacturers all have their strength and weaknesses. They all innovate in their own rights. Samsung may pack their handsets with features and a long spec sheet but making the features work seamlessly is where Apple still trumps them. Are they (Samsung) improving on this? Hell yeah! You are obviously stuck on Samsung but unlike you, I tend to use technology to my advantage and do not owe allegiance to one particular brand. I have an iPad but I still own a T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy SII (which I absolutely love). Will I get a Samsung Tablet? Not at this time as I don't feel like the Google play store has enough tablet optimized apps (one area iPad has an advantage on). Did I mention that I also have a Samsung Blu ray player and a Windows PC and just gave my cousin my former HTC Radar (windows phone)? My point here is simple: Demand that these manufacturers continue to innovate (not copy), improve upon previous models not take away features here and there and add some (like we cannot do a simple comparison). Your point on the "SMS rejecting message" proves my point about Apple. They may be late getting into the game but they include (not take away) features that their previous product did not have.

Shame about the operating system, because they are nice spec's for a smartphone.
