Here's our first look at Windows 10X in use

The general user interface tweaks look quite nice, but not a fan of that centred task bar. Apart from that it just doesn't look right to me (maybe just because it's what I'm used to), the icons are in a different place on the screen depending on how many applications are open, which I feel could be annoying .
It will also introduce problems that anyone who ever has to do tech support will be familiar with:
"Click on the Start button"
"Which one's that?"
"The button in the bottom-left corner of the screen"
Now it's in the middle, but it might be in the bottom left if they have a ton of things open, or might be somewhere in between.

You need to be using the newest versions of KDE Plasma which really are fast and much less buggy than earlier releases. I've been using it on my main system for the past 2 years and there has been a dramatic improvement.

atleast budgie is visually appealing, still KDE seems better

All old software will work on Windows 10 ? I use LiteManager instead of RDP, for remote support my network, on XP, Win 7 and even on Win 10 it works well, I hope Win 10X will be compatible with it

task bar awful, made more difficult to use. again. its called windows, but does not allow windows. unreal. and being forced to use cloud storage, well you just don't own what you save. and its open to those frequent hackers that like to steal your stuff. abhorrent. a crap metro reskin of RT.

Its should not be a computer is where no software. Rather than than this everyday can choose linux or chrome. No plus point to use it on notebook and it will surely fail for notebook. But they can introduce phone with 10X

Dedd, 15 Jan 2021Microsoft forgets that their strength is in the desktop UI,... moreThis also the case with BlackBerry, they were overly focused on their keyboard, they forget that the industry (and the market) are going towards touchscreen. Let's face it, what we call Windows Desktop app is just a legacy app that call legacy function within Windows. So much so that maintaining those said codes is impossible or prohibitively expensive. Windows 10 is at a state like Windows Mobile, where those codes no longer had maintainers and they need to start fresh to moving forward. Thus Windows Phone 7. Executive mismanagement aside, WP7 was able to compete with the competition better than any of what Windows Mobile could ever dream of. I was hoping that Microsoft had the courage to just kill of legacy apps support and move on with faster rate rather than current baby steps.

This is totally not what I expected for Windows 10X... I was expect ARM emulation optimization and touch UI optimization... How is this any different from Windows10S? UWP and UWP like shit ain't going to work. Google may mange to make Chromebook work some how, because Google CAN be expect to be cloud driven. Though whether ChromeOS is a successful or not is even a debatable one.. People use Windows just isn't that! There's a reason why Linux is not the mainstream, and there's also a reason why Microsoft keep failing at this space. Why sometimes miss the obvious?
