Android-Authority, 20 Jan 2021Did you even watch the video? It handled everything thrown... moreErm, no. The guy in comment section was the one who said it right. Most phones who need this won't ever get this update and the phones that will get the update with this feature don't even need it in the first place. Not direct quote, but he said this. How relevant updates are? Very. But you keep on defending your fragmented garbage supported Android ecosystem like it's your frigging mother. Jesus. Android OS as single entity looked at without past and present is a good OS. As OS where you take into account past and the future, it's pure absolute distilled garbage. Only OS that's this horribly fragmented and loose on all ends is Linux, but there you at least have the luxury to install any distro you desire on pretty much any PC. Getting the Android version you want and be fortunate enough it even supports your phone is about as slim as getting a major update after two years on most vendor devices. Stop lecturing me on s**t you clearly don't understand other than blindly defending Android and s**ting on iOS to a point I'm starting to believe you never ever used an iPhone for longer than 15 minutes as someone handed it over to you to fiddle with for a bit and now you're a smarta** all over the place. I've been on Android almost since its very beginning and now I'm on iOS for 2,5 years. Yes, updates make a god damn difference. The amount of Android phones I had stuck with some old OS just when they introduced some cool feature is absurd. It was ALL of them. And even though progress slowed down as Android matured, this post with this very feature is a testament on this stupidity. Coz it's happening yet again. Phones that would benefit from this the most will NEVER get this feature anyway. That's low end phones from few years ago which struggle with storage space and that will never get this update because their updates ran out ages ago already, even though that's only 1 or 2 years ago... But you're just so blind in defending it you not "don't see it" you straight out refuse to see it. Android as OS is good, Android the way it's managed by vendors on a global scale is a terrible horrible OS. But you'll just read this and go on raving how I'm an Apple fanboy and how much I hate Android. Yeah, with good reasons. Sigh

It handled everything thrown at it.
Did not struggle or become unusable as you mention in your posts.

In every article you talk about iOS updates... How relevant are these updates?
Apparently not much!!! Just more marketing and slowing down on older iPhones.

The video is proof how even budget devices from years back run properly without issues despite the fact that official support for newer versions of Android is not there.... essentially proving your narrative wrong. That was running Marshmallow Android 6 for God sake!!!Stop being a hater and accept that Android is simply better and has authority over iPhones.

I won... moreApps may be just as optimized on Android as on iOS but they're not always "adjusted" so well for different phone types and their various screen sizes, camera cut-outs etc. simply because it wouldn't make economical sense for companies to adjust their app for every single type of phone that exists.

                                        https://benchmarksgame-team.pages.debian.net/benchmarksgame/fastest/swift.html

One of the reason why Android is junk and slow is because of the backward compatibility. Having to have code build layer upon layer slow down the entire stack. Is that the fault of Java? NO, its the fault of the person who wrote the code / SDK. IMO android can be extremely fast and efficient also, but you have to drop those old devices, and be BOLD.. deprecate old code end support fast.

And of course, lousy hardware = lousy performance.
