With this, Apple stirred the interest of the public towards Samsung. The public will be more curious about Samsung products and why they lost in the court against Apple. Samsung may have lost in the US court but they gained the sympathy of most people in the US.

Apple's products are extremely over priced and over rated. Apple just a trend setter and very good in marketing to miss lead consumers.
Why you buy Apple if you have alternative to get a better and more affordable products from others.
The choice is yours.

HTK, 02 Sep 2012The idea of using a device to communicate on GSM cell tower... moreI don't know if you're just being sarcastic or being dead-set serious.
If it was the latter, you are sadly misinformed.
All the above information is just a google search away.
Lest you believe that Google (who owns Android) is deliberately feeding you false data, just use a different search engine or Wikipedia.
While Apple wasn't the first to create a mobile phone or even a smartphone, it's hard to deny that the first iPhone did revolutionize the industry.
It brought smartphones from the realm of the geeks and professionals to the masses, and made it easy to use. None of the features offered were anything new, in fact, the first iPhone offered LESS than comparable 3G feature-phones or smartphones (no bluetooth, no video calls, etc). But it did bundle everything into a sleek, incredibly easy to use package.
Strong marketing does help of course.

Cali, 03 Sep 2012you must live in Apple HQ's basement. get your facts strai... moreWake up and join the real wold. Nokia and Motorola phones were doing most of those fucntions in the 80's! All Apple know how to do to compete is to copyright other people's ideas and then try and sue them. The new Apple moto seems to be if you can cannot compete run to the nearest courtroom and hope for thes best and with the biased corruopt judges Apple seems to be paying off they do get some sucesses. Unfortuately that doesn't work in China and Japan. Lets not also forget going after the biggest tech. giant in their home country is commecial suicide. How many people in South Korea will buy an Apple product again now.

All getting very interesting. It's clear that Apple's future pretty much depends on cracking the BRICS markets in a big way or else they will be reduced to niche players in the luxury markets. Their problem is the same as it was in the 1990s when they nearly went bankrupt: because they refuse to license their products, everyone else can create and innovate faster than they can. In the early days of mobile OS's they had about three years head start on everyone, but now that space has been eroded and they are looking vulnerable.
In order to compete in the BRICS countries, they cannot simply rely on the $600 iphone - they will have to produce a truly mass market phone that can be retailed for about $100, but how to do that? Expect a range of 4s phones with lesser screens and iphone 3 internals to be discreetly tested in emerging markets. If they don't follow through with this, the mass market players producing phones at this level will kill Apple within 3-5 years as Apple are completely squeezed out of the major emerging markets, leaving Apple with a stronghold in the USA and nothing else. Once this happens, the other players will start to move in and Apple will be left helpless as the market is flooded with cheaper phones that do everything that iphones can for half the price.

The idea of using a device to communicate on GSM cell towers, that was Apples' idea. The idea of using a numerical keypad to dial outgoing numbers, also Apples. The idea to have a camera attached to the device, another brilliant Apple innovation. Having a screen on the phone so you can see what you are doing, thanks for that as well Apple. A rechargeable battery, also Apple. A headphone plug, Apple again. Apple also invented the touchscreen. Would you believe it, gestures on the touchscreen itself are also patents? Rounded corners on a icon also patents. Apple is just the greatest.
