Wully, 24 Jan 2021WHo what on earth is Honor?A phone manufacturer company that used to be under Huawei and sold good budget phones. With the US Sanctions things have been very difficult and Huawei sold Honor to Xiaomi which means they won't have to face the US Sanction complications. That was until Trump banned Xiaomi's market shares in the US

That doesn't mean a lot. You can't not trust USA political decisions. Xiaomi, for example or Honor could end in the same list that Huawei at any time. The best thing for chinese enterprises is to be completely independent of USA patents and products as soon as posible. It's well known that they are already following that way and doing it. The sooner the acomplish it, the better for them.

You can even make a solid argument for that choice, but that's one of the things actually doesn't necessarily corralates to the sales.

Combined sales of Pixel, Oneplus, Nokia and Sony accounts probably less than 10 percents all around the world.

BTW my current phone is Mi A1.

salarx, 22 Jan 2021It's as independent as poco or oneplus. It's far more independent that those. BBK owns these brands: oppo, vivo, oneplus, realme & iqoo & makes all the key decisions regarding them.

On the other hand, Honor is now owned by Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co., Ltd & hence fully independent from Huawei. Unless if there's a secret connection between the two companies (which is a conspiracy theory unless proven otherwise).

I said it, Honor isn't going anywhere. The company that bought Honor is making all the right decisions, so it seems likely that they'll find success.

That's good, because more competition is always good for any industry.

Gg. Idk what happens if Qualcomm, Mediatek, Intel and AMD together. Kinda feels like Honor is Thanos collecting stones

Honor has potential to be able to compete with Xiaomi! They need to make new UI that looks like Stock Android to something close to that and they'll be fine

Will they still give updates to old phones? Will there be android 10 for honor note 10?
