Screens nowadays have more body to screen ratio while in past we don't so it is the same size or smaller than a compact phone sized 4.6 inches which we love

Well Z1 mini up to Z5 mini were real compact flagships.
Anything with 6 inch or bigger is a just no.
Also Sony is long time making useless obsolette devices with old things which was awesome on flagships before 2018 or so.
Since then they sell expensive things but not worth the cost and efffort.

I'm definitely interested, tough I'm hoping the rumours of the Snapdragon 7*is correct rather than the 4*. I've still got my XZ1 Compact and its been struggling for the past year, mainly storage mind. I've been holding out for a smaller device in the same vein and have been resisting a move to the other side with an iPhone 12 mini

If we want it? I certainly do! I hate giant overpriced slabs of glass that pass for phones. Big, fragile and with a massive expensive to replace screen on them? No thank you.
I just recently replaced the battery and screen on my Xperia XZ1 Compact, it's been excellent for the last 3 years but it is getting a little long in the tooth.
My only proviso is that it shouldn't be a mid range chipset, I require a phone with excellent performance without the size. If it is midrange, I'll reluctantly go to an Xperia 5II.

I hope this leak is accurate and the Sony Xperia Compact (or C) is released in the UK. We like small, perfectly formed things here. Haha. I think Sony have overestimated the 21:9 aspect ratio. I think many followers of the brand (myself included) aren't fussed with this gimic and would rather have half decent specs at a competitive price point. If Sony offered a smaller smartphone and marketed it right there'd be plenty of takers. ;-)

I wish sony just take the dimensions of XZ1C and make it full screen and forget the 21:9 aspect ratio. I'd rather have a small punch hole for the selfie cam than a tear drop notch.
I agree to people stating that this does not need flagship SOC but a mid to upper mid range will do just fine. Also add thickness to accomodate a larger battery.

I for one want a max 140mm tall compact phone that dont have much bezels while have something like Dimensity 800U in it or G90. Or from SD as 690/720/730/732/750/765 Probably even 480 would do the job for me. But main thing is that it should be under 250 euro. As i dont much use the phone then having a flagship specs dont make any sense. You wont play games on it and wont do heavy work on it anyways so why you need flagship specs. Only for a good camera even you dont need the SD888 in it

A headphone jack doesn't necessarily indicate a budget phone with Sony as their flagship sensibly has one.
Unfortunately though I suspect this isn't the mini flagship most people wanted.

The range of ... moreJust because Samsung and Apple have seen fit to drive the market to stupid sizes doesn't mean people other than their disciples can't be sensible about it. Fortunately Sony's ration means that 5.5in actually equates to an almost compact phone with dimensions 140 x 68.9 x 8.9mm (vs Z5C 127.00 x 65.00 x 8.90mm).
This one is an epic fail because of the notch, lack of front facing speakers and possible mid-range specs when all people want is a smaller flagship.

Please, Sony, stop this round crap. Make it flat and sharp. You got the permission from iPhone last year. If it's good people will buy it. And no tear drop selfie camera crap too. Be awesome. Do not conform to trends. You have tried it, didn't work. It means nothing. Just make a small 5.5" version of Xperia 1 II. And give your best to try to keep 4000mA battery in. OLED too. All of us who want this compact back, do not care that much about the camera, selfie, or otherwise. We just want great small phone, with great battery time and great esthetics. Curves are for breasts and hips, not for devices with screens.
