I had laptop for 8 years and still working as a charm even with original battery though I bought upgrade it is still working fine as I maintained it, and changed termal paste few times it is not imposioble to keep laptop for 10 years.

Lol, who buys pre-built PC? You built yourself or don't buy at all, plus shipping is very conplicated, no wonder is declining.

I am probably in this statistics as I recently purchased a M1 MacBook Pro after 1 year with only 2 iPads. I must say that it is nice to go back to a laptop after a year, especially one with a M1 chip, but I don't think it is more useful than the iPad. I can be without a laptop and do everything including real work on the iPad plus the versatility but I couldn't have just a laptop.

I've replaced HDD and upgraded Ram. Other than that everything works fine. And my uncle's PC has issues too. So nothing is issue free.

Another ridiculous trend. Desktop PC will easily last 10 years, even without replacing any parts. Good luck using your laptop this long. Even half that time is still a miracle. But today's consumers are totally used to getting ripped off and constantly replacing the junk they buy so eagerly

Of course if your at home you would use your desktop pc if you have one and considering the new AMD Ryzen Mobile 5000 Laptops have pretty decent performance and battery life unless stocks are available.

desktop pc is a bit cheaper and more powerful than laptop so i am more prefer getting desktop pc.

kanaaka, 28 Jan 2021it's true but today the problems is a bit complicated.... moreNo way itll be on par of a Full Blown PC even Laptops(High-Mid End) as they are meant to save battery not to mention portability hence thermal throttle/limit cpu performance to prevent high temps or the phone/tablets would explode having its battery close to it!
