It is indeed innovative but is it really practical? If you are away and putting down the phone, might as well just put on a charging pad

thats what you call inovation, a step, or even a leap into the future.

2 Years back I saw a prototype in CES by a company charging phones and devices wirelessly. I was very interested on that line up.
It’s definitely revolutionary, again Mi is first one to implement it.

Tempting, but I'll wait and see real world reviews about this product. Maybe it does sound too good to be true after all.

This tech, if implemented in vehicles where these type of devices are on both sides of road and the EV car getting charged wirelessly.
Will probably experience this before my death.

is this a joke? April is still a few months away

This is good.....No longer breaks from my phone......The phone simply gets charged all the time lol😂

This won't only charge your device but your brain cells too. Charge them to a pulp that is, from all that radiation.

yes... next they will invent the wireless frying pan. and what happen if a person is between the phone and the charger.. will make the brain burst ?

The way it work is very similar to fire controll radar. The 'search radar'(UWB becon on the phone)locate and lock the phone. Then sending directive wave (including power) by multi small antenna(like phased array radar).
As Xiaomi said,it can reach 5 watts max at 5 meters.Meanwhile it can charge multi smartphone in the same time.
The equipment look big,but it have 5 antenna,so it cover nearly 360°.And if you dont need 360° cover it can become smaller by reducing the antenna.

That's real wireless charging. Its like a tesla coil concept back then but it seems more modern and practical

Finally. Later on, tech will evolve even further. Allowing us to charge phones by just using WiFi and Mobile Network. And also share battery power with friends by hotspot or Bluetooth

Wow! This is like the holy grail of wireless charging tech. No stand. No wires. No magnets. You can use the phone anywhere while it's charging. Good job Xiaomi 👍

                                Badmouthers incoming !

Interesting, but converting radio waves into electrical energy in such a small device that is your phone, sounds to me like some very high radiation levels, what safety tests has this wounderful technoly gone through?
