Dometalican, 30 Jan 2021I mean...similar to Huawei, couldn't they meet with th... morehow else will they control their population if they actually prove themselves wrong? fear is a great tool. and how else will apple keep their profits so high is xiaomi enters the merican market.

They deserve it for being a monopoly

I mean...similar to Huawei, couldn't they meet with the vice president (Harris would know more than Biden on this), head of security, and whoever takes over the head of the FCC to prove they don't assist the CCP in gathering data despite the hypocrisy of the US letting Google and Facebook do the same thing?

I would think proof would be more in the pudding. I know ZTE screwed up but I want these brands to, you know, prove the US wrong.

If I'm not mistaken, the Chinese government will not let businesses be started in their country that aren't owned at least 50-51% by chinese.

How about we sue you for that crappy practice? If I was a ruler, I wouldn't let chinese anything in my country due to the lack of respect for IP, being the hub for product knock offs, their one way internet policy, and having little respect for the privacy of citizens.

Smart move, they won some time until Biden administration makes (hopefully positive) changes and this nonsense blows away. Time will tell.

Maybe all those U.S. companies banned in China should sue the CCP.

Oh wait, there is no justice system or independent courts in China, especially not for foreigners...

Hope Huaeei and Xiaomi as well as ZTE can use USA technology, so they can provide the best user experience

I don't think Xiaomi are able to gauge the anger against China and Communist ruled state especially after Covid fiasco. Every government (from Canada, Australia to USA) wants to make China pay for the Covid mess they have created and destroyed economies all over the world. It would have been a better strategy to lie low for a while.

Add to the Covid issue, there are lingering issues regarding privacy and espionage using Chinese communication equipment. Phones like Xiaomi come with lot of apps that cannot be uninstalled. Users have absolutely no freedom of choice if they dont want an app on their device.

                  Yeah, that's DOA!

Meanwhile, so many Xiaomi phones have Qualcomm technology inside them.
Place your bets if USA will force Qualcomm to halt any collabs with Xiaomi.
I highly doubt so, since Qualcomm have even managed to gain access to supply Huawei with 4G chips.
