whats the point of that? its only cheap for apple to reduce the size in sim card. it saves power yes but its a waste of time. 90% of the countries in the world doesn't or will not support this feature... they are just leading the way to no where.

well that's "very" surprise. i wouldn't be more surprise with the device cause i don't think there any much improvement besides the hardware. function and apps still the same.

AnonD-21465, 04 Sep 2012Oh for the love of god stop with these changes in SIM card ... moreIt is actually not useless from an engineering and design standpoint. The extra space that it will give after it is reduced to a smaller size is a big help.

AnonD-21465, 04 Sep 2012Oh for the love of god stop with these changes in SIM card ... moreThe smaller sims means that the required data is coming from a far smaller surface area, therefore saves a lot more power in the long run. This can extend a phone with a battery life from around 4 days to 5.5 days. Doesn't sound like much, but in the long run, it is a hell of a lot of power saved.

[deleted post]Nokia, Sony and Apple were all pushing for a nano-sim, not just apple. However, Apple's version of the nano-sim was accepted by the European authorities, with some modifications made by Apple to suit requests from Nokia.

So get your facts straight, the nano sim was going to happen, Apple or not.

I dont understand why on earth they really have to change the size of the SIM cards...

People with sight also having difficulty to find the nanoSIM if drop on the floor, what if a blind or low vision person? Do they ever care?.

Is the miniSIM tray really a great deal to fit on a phone? really use up lots of space on a device?

                    I TRUELY DONT UNDERSTAND!!!

The smaller the sim gets the more space left for new components there is

This is rubbish, real rubbish. Soon sim cards will be the the size of micro sd memory cards. Useless, selfish, customer controlling Apple!

How pointless. We just changed SIM cards to micro-SIMs now nano and no change in functionality or performance. What a waste of time Apple and the nan-SIM.

Oh for the love of god stop with these changes in SIM card standards, it's pointless. There was nothing wrong with the regular SIM size that we had for so many years, than came the useless micro and now this crap that you could lose just by dropping it on the floor in your room...I'm sick enough of microSD cards and now this... -.-

Who cares what Apple is doing with their phone.

Due to their shuddy business practices, ridiculously overpriced products and their terrible human exploits overseas, where workers are paid next to nothing to assemble their "innovative" products, then those products are sold to us at exuberant prices, we, the public, should boycott Apple. They are not releasing anything that we can't get elsewhere.

They attempt to monopolise the industry by bullying their competition and are hypocrites, as history has shown that they have stolen their fair share of ideas. Businesses like this should NOT be allowed to thrive. They are not offering anything we can't get elsewhere, for better prices. To hell with Apple!
