(i use a pixel 4a) you might have the colour profiles setup in a way that gives you unsatisfactory colour. i use the adaptive colours and have noticed no weird cream menus or notification bars.

That looks a lot like Apple added to Android

Don't take that seriously. That is still UI design against UX...

Those larger widgets on the home screen remind me of my much-loved Windows Mobile devices from 6 years ago. Progress?

Haha, now this update will slow down already slowed android phones. My suggestion is if you get android 12 update in future , please don't update, these major changes may affect your devices.

If you own a flagship, then you might consider.

Anna, 09 Feb 2021Android 9 Pie was the last OS upgrade where Google had actu... moreIf that means refining what's unfinished and there's a lot of that, then I'm totally ok with it. Why work on adding new features when you haven't finished polishing what you currently have. Take the navigation pill for example. It sits at the bottom and sometimes the content goes behind it, sometimes it sits inside a black bar that's high enough to cut the curved edge in the middle and make it hideous, or it sometimes have a border above it. Inconsistency at its finest. You've got the punch-hole camera. Work and force a way of having apps implement their content to go around it. Open Gmail on a Pixel 5 for example and put it in landscape. What's with the thick black bar at the left? Oh, it's because of that punch hole. If even Google didn't care about that, I'm not surprised other app devs don't give a shit about refining thier apps. But this is am OS thing and until Google does something about it, other app devs can't do shit.

Viv, 09 Feb 2021Copy away people. Apple did it, so why not. If the user ben... more"copy away"? So if Mercedes is using a steering wheel in their cars, means that the rest of the manufacturers are supposed to use stcks? If some operating system is using a very good feature, means that only that operating system can implement it and others not? If Windows is using icons, other operation systems should use text in stead? When someone brings a new and useful thing in the world (feature, system etc) means that everybody else has to reinvent that thing in order to apply it? I think it is best to bring useful stuff from one operating system to another, this way they can refine the user experience regardless of manufacturer. I may not like Apple's phones, or Samsung's or others, but if I settle for a phone I like I want to benefit from all the "good software stuff" that is available on the market. There are tons of stuff that I like from iPhones and Android devices. Non of them, alone, manage to offer me, by themselves best user experience. There are some things that I miss from my iPhone and Android has and vice-versa. So yeah, I think I better when they borrow thing from one another and improve their products. "Copy" is something a Xerox machine dose. Here is a question for you: regardless of what phone you use, is or was there a moment/moments when you wish you had "that feature" on your phone from the other manufacturer? Wouldn't it felt better and completed your user experience? I don't care about your answer, was just something for you to think before you criticize ;)
