It is very easy to conclude that all these anti competitive conglomerates from USA trying to block innovation and charge ransom from rest of the world through blocking, banning etc...instead of actually doing innovation in competitive manner. Nvidia may not be an angel but QC trying to block is something fishy

I don't really get it what binding force has some random regulator on such deals. It can only be taken as an opinion. An US and an UK companies are striking the deal and some laughable regulator from say Papua is against it. Regulators have absolutely no authority to stop such deals, they only add a billion to the end price in bribery.

The deal should and will be blocked,or the entire Android may moved to RISC-V......
I dont like Qualcomm, they use their base band patent kick the Nivida and TI out of the smartphone SOC competition.
But that dont mean letting Nivida buy the ARM is a good idea.

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2021As a consumer, this will definitely affect us in a bad way.. Yeah, no.
What screws us the consumer is nations and corporations encroaching over our privacy, companies blocking out our right to repair, and marketing departments persuading people to spend more money, more often, for lesser features.
Nvidia owning ARM will screw Qualcomm. Qualcomm isn't likely to screw us, the consumer, since they've already done that to the limit. Remember when a flagship chipset used to be sold for $40-$60, well they actually doubled the price in the past two years. They (Qualcomm) can't press for higher prices, as there has been stagnation in phone purchases due to price. So if Nvidia did raise licensing fees, then Qualcomm would have to eat this up, meaning lower profit margins. Regardless, I do not think Nvidia will be able to purchase ARM.

Anonymous, 14 Feb 2021Nvidia should create their own x86/64 CPU too to compete wi... moreWha waste money on a project, that would take decades to create at least something working, not to mention competitional. Intel and AMD don't sleep.
And Intel does not enter the market, it was on the market long time ago, with integrated GPUs.

Nvidia should create their own x86/64 CPU too to compete with AMD/Intel Duo Poly now that Intel is gonna enter the GPU Market w/c I hope will be successful since it would tremendously change pricing between AMD/NVIDIA GPU duo poly!

Glad this deal will be blocked, although Nvidia makes great products, they have a history of underhanded deals, the gating costs would be carried to the consumer one way or another

ARM must become independent company or at least partly own by some EU governments/entities
EU must have microchip technological independent or at least on some degree

Yeah please block this, they are just using word of mouth to say
"Don't worry all is well we won't do anything bad" and expect people to take their word for it
But business is business and eventually they will manipulate unfairly
No more monopolies please
