Still as susceptible to burn-in as traditional OLED displays though. Anyway, you don't have to worry about burn-in from using AOD because the display refreshes every now and then so that the same pixels do not light up all the time.

Anonymous, 15 Feb 2021Welcome to 2010 apple usersyea the AOD feature is old, but this new LTPO Oled is new which basically guarantees next to none screen burn ins. Apple ships millions of iphones. And no other brand sells the same amount of phones for the same model. So if they were to give AOD in early models and users face burn ins, not only they will have to replace huge number of models with millions of display waste, but also they will hurt their reputation as a perfectionist brand. The antenna gate and bend gate did cost them billions in cost

AOD has been around since 2009 from Nokia. And remember double tap to wake that the LG G2 offered by 2013? Nokia had it first. Android OEMs copied them. Even Apple copied Moto's "raise to wake" because the 2013 Moto X's Active Display.

The most innovative thing Apple has done in the last 5 years are AirPods especially the charging case it comes with. Most of their stuff they just copied.

As if Samsung mocking Apple in removing the charger in the box then did the same thing a few months later doesn't make Android fans so hypocrite about saying that Apple is the copycat, LOL.
I ain't an Apple fan either, but come on! These manufacturers have been copying each other for years already that there's barely any difference to differentiate each one from one another.

-Now go on and tell me that Apple did not inspire LG, Samsung, and Motorola to have dual cameras when the iPhone 7 Plus was leaked to have such feature 9 months ahead of its official introduction.
-How about Android OEMs now trying to improve their haptics when Apple stepped up the game in this area?
-Why did these Android OEMs also removed the headphone jack on their premium flagship phones when Apple decided to do it a few months ahead of them?
-Why are Android devices now starting to have gesture-based navigation controls after iOS has been changed in that way for the iPhone X?
-Why is Samsung trying to compete with Apple in having the smallest chin in a smartphone now?
-Why wasn't stereo speakers popular in premium flagship Android phones back in the days when Apple was still having mono speaker, and only became a standard feature for flagships after Apple finally had them?

If these things aren't clear enough, then there's definitely an issue with these salty Android crybabies. The simple point is, to say that Apple is copying Android devices without even acknowledging that Android manufacturers have also been trying their best to mimic and defeat Apple in whatever they do is very appalling to your side, and only makes you guys look like desperate hypocrites crying for attention.
Yes, iPhones are pretty expensive for what they offer, but they do excel in things that matters, specifically the stability, longevity of support, and definitely the higher level of security. You think these devices don't fit what you absolutely want and need in a smartphone? Fine, then don't buy it, and get over it. Why do you guys really have to be so salty against those who will buy them and even call them by such names? Is it really that those iPhone users are the problem or is it you guys who are desperately crying for attention on the purchasing decisions of other people?
iPhone users have pretty much been silent for years now and enjoying what they have. It's always you Android fans who are looking for something to fight even though nobody is really challenging you.
But hey, people still fight over whether pineapple belongs on pizza or not, right? Now that really makes sense.

Matias Duarte masterminded webOS. And Palm Pre offered wireless charging as far back as 2009. This is why Nexus 4 and 5 offered wireless charging by 2012 and 2013. Then Matias Duarte moved to Google in 2010 and first worked on Honeycomb.

So when Apple users keeps saying Google copied Apple with Android Pie offering gesture swipe up to go home, they're wrong. Google has the guy that Apple copied from.

2009: Palm releases webOS with gesture swipes.
2017: iPhones X comes out with gesture swipes.

Apple fans: OMG! Apple is revolutionary!

Apple has copied more than innovated. Like iOS14 has barely offered widgets. That was available to Android for over decade. The app library is really an app drawer.

Apple copied threaded messages from Palm Treo. Copied that card UI from webOS with their multi-task bar and in Safari. And iMessage is a copy of BlackBerry Messenger.

Apple copies. Their fans think they invented it.

So, how would Apple perfect the Always-On Display? Non Apple devices had already perfected that feature even with all the twists (e.g. Nokia's Always On LCD) and spins. What else can be done?
