Eh? SD 765G? Well that's a real surprise considering the 10 ii utilized an SD 600 Series chipset. Or maybe Sony is silently building a Plus version of the 10 iii considering the cancellation of the Xperia 10 ii Plus*. Anyway, only time will tell.

Dim screen? What dim screen? The one on 1II? On any device such as S20, X2 Pro or whatever as soon as you turn on color correct mode brightness never exceeds about 450 nits. If you need super bright panel than you just might as well stick with LCD screen cause you are going to burn that OLED within a year. Yes 1II is tad bit dimmer because of higher number of pixels and excellent gamma tracking but it's not a real life issue like you can't read the screen under sunlight.
Overheating? Where? How? 1II can record up to an hour of 4K HDR video without interruption. Where is the overheating problem you are talking about? The only time you will get overheating problem is when playing demanding games or try to remote play PS4 on XZ2 Compact due to small chassis. That's the only time it overheats but then again you aint buying a compact phone to play games on it. You wanna play games you buy the big one that doesnt overheat at all.
Battery depletion? Never ever had such a case within 3 years of using Xperias. They all went from being a two day device to one day device within a year, that's the only degradation I've experienced.

Should use the sd765g on the 10ii year ago. Hard to downgrade from my cheap sd865 poco phone now, will suddenly feel like slow motion. Odd sony.

I dont have to own or hold the phone just by the leaks of photos alone, i can yell how dim the screen of this expensive piece of slab. Sony never listens to the problem of the people: dim screen, heat issue, battery drains fast. These are very basic but until this time 2021 these issues have never been addressed. No way to any sony devices if these issues still remain.

interesting what they are trying to do with midrange, only have flagship from them except miro since i keep on using phones for years, so at least a flagship can survive a couple of years, somewhat future proof... but midrange soc are already great...
from z5 premium to 1ii... from z1 compact to xz2 compact... and if all xperia users are like this, they really wont sell much... but I hope they wont release an update for "planned obsolescence" like some makers out there...

I doubt Sony will be able to match those Chinese manufacturers for the price.
