Nice move Apple!
That shows integrity. I obviously wouldn't do business with someone who damaged me.

Dazz, 07 Sep 2012LMAO the biggest fail will be Apple, Yeah Samsung may feel ... moreSo Apple still gets the chips it needs just from different suppliers instead of one, but it's going to suddenly collapse.
Samsung loses massive orders of components from its biggest customer, and it only feels a pinch.
Lol makes perfect sense to me hahaha.

Or may be it doesn't need samsung any more... Apple are confident enough now to move on to new suppliers. Just a thought!

AnonD-70349, 07 Sep 2012let me draw you a picture:
You chop down a tree
Then you ... moreFinally! You got it! So now you understand, that the only way for Samsung to cover their lost sales will be to instead sell all those lost Apple orders as Samsung phones instead.
Now here's the kicker, do you think Samsung can suddenly just decide to sell 10, 20, 30 million extra phones just because Apple doesn't want their chips anymore? And, wasn't that what Samsung has been trying to do all this while anyway? They weren't holding back sales just for Apple's sake right?
Thus I put it to you, that Samsung has to increase sales by a sudden huge amount (difficult given that they have already been selling at the current demand setting), find alternative buyers (possible but may not be in Apple's quantities), or reduce production. In either case, it's not exactly good news is it?

LMAO the biggest fail will be Apple, Yeah Samsung may feel the pinch slightly but since the companies in question this is referencing to NAND and not SOC processors. Samsung control over 80% of the NAND flash market for a reason.
This works out bad for Apple, here is some examples.
1# Toshiba - provides products and quality equivalent to that of Samsungs at a higher price and are very unlikely to keep up with Apples demand, driving prices even higher for their products which will be harder to get.
2# Hynix - Ok quality below Samsungs & Toshiba's but may get it at the same price (best apple can do really) May be able to supply enough to Apple and are a lot slower than Samsungs.
3# Elpida – can provide enough to Apple, however you don’t want these for a reason! High failer rate and very poor performance.
All these are bad for Apple and it's customers.
Nuff said really.
