Shanti Dope, 17 Feb 2021Much like what you've said, this is also my preference... moreCan't argue with that explanation.

RandomPiash, 17 Feb 2021It's people's preference if they want lcd or amol... moreMuch like what you've said, this is also my preference.
Why do you have to be so aggressive about my explanation though? Did I hurt your feelings or offended you in any way with it?

Anyway, I'm stating my own choice based on realistic events, where high refresh rate OLEDs are still far from being accessible to lower end segment of smartphones.
True high quality OLED panels are very expensive, which is why we still don't see so many phones having OLED panels for budget phones. It is possible, but the quality cannot be assured to be as good as we are expecting it to be.
I've already seen the Poco F2 Pro''s AMOLED display recently, and it was a good panel, but I have seen better-looking and much more reliable OLED panels from Samsung in the same price segment as the Poco's current price point. Looking in real life, the Galaxy A51 and A71's Super AMOLED Plus displays are so much brighter and more eye-catchy in comparison to what Xiaomi is using on their budget phones. Only the Black Shark 3 was able to be as high quality as Samsung's OLED panels, but that was a significantly more expensive phone. In short, we can't expect high quality OLED panels when we're also getting upper mid range Qualcomm SoC for under $400. There will always be a compromise in the hardware department, and the hassle of having to fix it in the long run will just lessen its value proposition.
In contrast, a very good IPS panel with high refresh rate and great battery efficiency will be much more practical choice if someone intends to stick with the phone for years.
OLED panels degrade, IPS don't. If you're simply after for an AMOLED display on a budget, then the Galaxies and Xperia 10 II are your best bets for the best quality panels in a mid ranger. Xiaomi's OLED panels in the mid range segment aren't as good as what one would typically expect from an OLED, especially a high-quality one.

Jay, 17 Feb 2021Exactly, I've been waiting for this phone thinking it... moreNo Redmi Note phone has had anything other than LCD.

Just curious; why would you think it'd come with an AMOLED display? What influenced the expectation?

                              50watt fast charging

So, nothing is unknown except performance 🤪

Ratnesh, 17 Feb 20211.Redmi should stop LCD display now and start making Amold ... moreI bet when Xiaomi uses low quality OLED then people are gonna complain that it doesn't support always on display because it is ram less..

Then people are gonna complain about color shifting problems and burn in later on

Having an OLED preference is ok but there is a huge risk as these type of panels for budget phones are of much much less lower quality
