I wanted to buy an ROG phone every since the first one released, however I was always concerned about the durability of those devices because, in Amazon, which is the only place I can get it reliably in my country there were a lot of reviews complaining about the glass AND/OR display breaking by minor falls, cracks, etc... and in turn making the device unusable (touch digitizer broken or display not working properly).

Having suffered a similar experience on the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact and Z3 Compact devices that left a bitter taste and wary of buying Xperia phones again, I was very skeptical of the Asus ROG Phone series. I actually stuck to Sony after said experience and the X, XZ phones were truly tough and durable. So fast forward to 2021 I ended up getting the Xperia 5 II which is a bit on the expensive side considering the hardware, but man I am truly impress so far.

I still have curiosity for the ROG phones and this one in particular seem to be a beast, but I have to say that for the day-to-day and my personal use case, the Xperia 5 II is an awesome device.

Still using the ROG phone 2 (12gb version). Everything still run smoothly. I dont find any issue like other people complain abt. I still play heavy games daily and it runs fine. As long as you put the fan while gaming the temperature is stable. After almost 2 years of usage the batery drop quicker now which is normal if you play heavy games all the time. Maybe its time for ROG 5.

Play the same game on both. Be sure to keep looking at the ping in the game. You will see it's quite stable on the second phone, but on rog it will go up and down all the time. With big differences on the loop. While your second phone will stay stable just around the same ping. Rog will have ping spikes on 50-100ms in difference, while the second phone will be about 10-30ms.

How about this. Let's add a toggle switch. Wherein in standard mode. It will only use 1080 at 60 hz display. That way. The user can switch between standard and high end gaming mode.

1TB internal storage isn't enough to suffice the need of a mobile gamer. A separate storage is needed to store their music, videos, and other personal items. The internal would be dedicated for games only.

No matter what happens these Chinese companies should produce flagship killers at 300-500 USD price bracket.
