Nielsen: Android growth in US continues, iOS stays strong

Android powered 58.6% of newly purchased US smartphones, while 34.3% ran on Apple's proprietary iOS.

Android is popular and always will be because
1. its opensource
2. it don't have restrictions like others
3. Its range is very broad from low to high end
4. it is produced by google a big gaint and supported by big brands like samsung, sony, htc, motorola etc. unlike others
5. its improving fast

    Anonymous, 11 Sep 2012multi-task is something you dont want??? this is the single... moreim saying a truth! no one using multitask and bluetooth anymore! only symbian user use it! i dont know why android using it! flash its also an obsolete features! only kids using that right!

                i dont know why people always comparing iOS vs. android (paranoid) i never use android coz china phones also use android and im using iOS coz its unique simple and perfect for me! even if its dependent on itunes, cant tranfer file to other virus brands, no real multitasking, etc. no one using bluetooth and multitasking anymore coz its only an obsolete features! i have nothing against android but i realy dont like it!

                    Oh it will.

                    Learn to like tiles with a Windows 7 Skin.
                    Just it wont lag or have forced closes on the real
                    thing when you use Window Phone 8 Android fans.
