Article's quote: "Facebook is launching a new [video] ad campaign...with the tagline “Good ideas deserve to be found”."
Mark Zuckerberg obfuscating the reality as always. Dissecting the misinformation from Facebook, the true tag line is: 'Good people deserve to be data-harvested'.

Apple, FB/IG/WA, Twitter, Google - all part of the same cesspool of privacy raping and tracking.
Just give up on them, there are alternatives. Just search and you'll find.

I do hate some of Apple's marketing malpractices, but in this case Apple is doing the right thing.
Also Facebook's decision to pull out news content from Australia due to the implemented News Media Bargaining Code came under a lot of pressure. The purpose was to benefit news media companies as making news cost money. Fortunately FB finally paid up like Google did 3 days before the bill was passed otherwise they will lose a lot of money in the long run.

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2021Apple is the worst when it comes to collecting data.
Andro... moreEvery OS will collect data. But what they do with it, is the real reason to worry/relax.
For Apple, it went against FBI and refused to even unlock the iPhone of a terrorist. In my country too, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India tried forcing Apple to let it allow list it's app on App Store and Apple simply denied it. It even went on saying that they are ready to exit India, but can't risk with privacy.
On the other hand, Google effortlessly coordinated with FBI (as mentioned by another user down below). And this is no brainer that Google do collect massive amount of data and use it for advertising.

Anonymous, 26 Feb 2021In basic tasks, even a 200$ device is smooth as S20 FE. Go ... moreIt's because biggest speed factor was actually storage. Before UFS, we had eMMC which was super slow when NAND had to do both read and write at the same time. 6S is so fast because iPhone 6 was the first to feature NVMe storage which is same standard as used for SSD's in desktop computers. So, yeah it was super fast and could do read-write at same time easily. Speed of chipsets is not really an issue these days. And neither is storage anymore unless phone still has eMMC...

as much i hate apple as a company for multiple legit reasons, i agree with them on this one, no one should be allowed to profit from users data and that includes them as well, cause the greedy diks are trying to make their own search engine so they can make more money than they are getting from google just for making google.com as the default search engine.

First time I agree with Apple policy. Don't let Google and Facebook bully users. If the users want to share then it is fine but no one coerce anyone to share data for whatever reason may it be. Kudos Apple.

A 5 year old phone is as smooth as a 6 month old one. Is that losing? I don't follow much on these benchmarking software nor do I buy devices based on that. But in real world, ios has given me sustained performance. Just sharing my own experience.

How do you think Mediatek was caught on Antutu cheating?
Apple never gets caught for their GeekBench scores or other benchmarks because of close sourced OS, their scores keeps increasing but clearly it loses in real world activities.
