I still don't believe their 3X zoom loseless through the 108 MP sensor. Don't get me wrong, it can work. Samsung showed us how to do 3x zoom loselesly through cropping part of an image from the 64 Mp sensor, stack frames, then process it to get 3x loseless zoom from an 1x 64 MP. So, it can work. Even Huawei does the same. Huawei's Mate 40 Pro 50 MP main camera takes better 2.5x zoom shots than Note 20 Ultra's 108 Mp despite at daytime and the Samsung higher res. That's because Samsung is cropping the center of the image, than upscale the image, upscaling reduces detail, and increase noise. While Huawei just basicallt stacks multiple images, then crops in without upscaling, that's why their zoom looks better than 108 MP from N20 U. So in theory, if Realme goes by Huawei's path, then 3x loseless zoom is achievable, so you don't need an tele lens. But, if Realme goes the Samsung way, than Realme is basically misleading customers. Note : This processing works only in photos, not in videos

Anonymous, 02 Mar 2021IPhone is notorious for using outdated hardware What matters is the results. Apple i think purposely did that, so previous generation Iphone owners would not be tempting to upgrade, so they can keep their phones longer. And longevity is what Apple want, not keeping you to keep changing phones every 1 or 2 years. There's a positive to that. Even Iphone XS daytime shots can still compete with Iphone 12 because of Smart HDR. Even android phones (Flagships too) these days still struggle to reach Apple's smooth and fluid lens transition, Stabilisation in lowlight, and video dynamic range (since most android phones don't record HDR video). What i mean is Real HDR, not HDR10 or Dolby Vision.

It is different in the Android world (except Google Pixels) , where each new generation of products will always makes you wanting to upgrade instead of staying with your old phone. The jump between each product generation is huge, and because they achieved it through hardware, not all capabilities of new model are given to the old generation products.
I mean, Pixel 2 gets Night sight, Astrophotography, Super Res Zoom, Live HDR through updates, no other company does this, because they achieved it through hardware.
Look at the P20 - P30 - P40, the jump is so huge, and the old phone cannot keep up. So that's what i mean. Each path has its own goods and bads, it depends on how you look at it. I have experienced both, so that's why i can tell you this

"In-sensor Zoom" aka fake zoom that Samsung uses in Galaxy S21 and S21+. Stop lying to costumers and put a proper telephoto lens in the phone.

Si hao, 02 Mar 2021I captured some details from the event The realme 8 pro ... more108 Mp is enough to cover 2x zoom lossless. Xiaomi proved it, that their 27 MP can outperform cheap tele lens that are 3 stabilised. Samsung couldn't do it because Samsung's image processing prioritizes noise reduction over detail, so the details gets wiped out, so that's why Samsung's 2x zoom portrait has worse details than even Pixel 5 2x Zoom portraits. That's the matter of processing. Xiaomi is not as bad as Samsung in terms of details and you can install Gcam to furtger enchance zoom shots through Super Res Zoom

Good sensor with no OIS and a midrange soc

how long are they actually gonna take their time to actually put out a really good camera setup for their budget phones?

instead of bringing out these shitty quad camera setups and shitty quad bayers they should just use a 12mp main sensor and a 8mp ultrawide just like 2017.
