This phone looks so good that it deserves to be banned in USA.

If th... moreWell it does if you want a mass manufactured panel, in this case, Meizu 18 and 18 Pro share the same specs with S20 and S20+. It's possible to have a custom-made panel but it isn't cost effective so manufacturers take whatever Samsung offers. I'd like to have a 18:9 panel with 120 Hz on a phone but the reality is it's never gonna happen no matter how much we beg. It's more likely we'll get 20.5:9 panels instead.

It does look like there is no chin there. I want a front facing image with not black wallpaper to see it more clearly.
Base model seems OK in specs.
I wonder about software updates tho. How long do they support their devices?

If they ask Samsung to make 18:9 screens with QHD 144Hz, Samsung is gonna make.
If they wanted screen without the hole, samsung would sell.
It is all own choice.

Even the 7"+ phablets are nowhere to be found. I just said that all QHD OLED 120 Hz panels are above 19:5.9, why would they go back to wider panels that are stuck at 60 Hz. 4500mAh is more than enough to have great battery life where most flagships are. As for the telephoto, the pro should've gotten a periscope but to me it's an expensive gimmick not as useful as an upgraded main sensor.

They are not losing money like Htc and LG.
They have changed their focus to phones of higher price over making low midranges. This shift is bringing more money than expected.

Not all phones have cost cuts like Redmi K series.
CPU + screen together are at least $230.

Meizu teased to... moreYou can say that to pretty much any brand, eventually they have to join the bandwagon to appease the market. QHD OLED 120 Hz screens are all above the AR of 19.5:9. Meizu hasn't been doing well for some time and they only launched 2 phones in 2020. They are unique but most of their phones aren't as practical as the competition which is why I never bought them. The pro version is really good but the vanilla version is more unique due to its compact size. I'm not a fan of small phones but I know there's a market for small phones.

Probably just a matter of time before they end up disappearing unless another brand acquires them. They simply can't sell the phone for much cheaper though as they are a small independent brand which means they'll significantly pay more for components than the big players with bulk orders. The regular model is about 10% more than the mi11 with similar specs but an overall better camera set-up. Nice to see such a light and relatively compact flagship at 162g though

....as a T-Mobile customer in the US, it shocks me that it has LTE band 12 and misses out on AT&T's band 17. First time in YEARS, we can use Meizu out here with the basic network.
Either way, I'm not getting it. Price is not TERRIBLE but no headphone jack, microSD card, and no charger is a no-no.
