Never known for their camera. At best, average. But as other readers said, 3rd party camera app/fix is the way to go.

I get edges on the non pro variant too . I seem to remember old OnePlus having bad cameras which ok they're still not great ..you pay for what you get. All that's happening is OnePlus is maturing and evolving to keep up with the competition. The price hikes are probably something to do with Qualcomm as they've been in trouble lately.

      If it's anything like the OP8 video is outstanding but camera leaves something to be desired . Try taking a picture of a camp fire and watch it struggle. Used night mode and every option possible and every time the flames looked like a blurred mess.

        One plus cameras seem to be better than Samsung's.... I have used +7T, +8T and these do a better job than the S10, S20.....

            The biggest issues I have with stock cam on my 8T is low light.

            And to combat that I use GCam which fixes all the issues. So It's really one of the best phones of 2020 for the price.

Take any one from exposure, contrast/gamma adjustment, detail/noise processing, handling of colours.. each of them is equally screwed up on their brand new Smart HDR 3.

              I have personally nothing against Apple as a company, but I would take Google, Oppo, Xiaomi, Huawei and (old) Samsung processing over Apple's any day. I still can't believe how terrible 12's still photos look considering that iPhone XS and 11 were actually doing great in this regard.

                I Tested gcam with my OP8 pro, it destroys Pixel or any other 2020 flagship.

                                  Honestly though the average consumer won't notice any difference between oneplus 8t and say the Samsung fe which is around the same price bracket the only difference one would notice is colours other than that you would have to pixel peep for differences

                                    They actually gave it higher score in my opinion
