Could it be that HTC's flagship is indeed hiding under a random name like "Oppo"? Has anybody heard of that brand or company?

This phone will likely not be sold in great numbers in Europe where warranty laws are strict, it will be too expensive to sell it. Some years ago many chinese phones were sold i western europe but the distributors had to stop the sales because the profit didnt cover the warranty expenses. Consumer rights laws are too strict. Made In China is good, but not when the mother company is chinese, they have no understanding of the QC process, and they never heard of consumer rights so its no point trying to say anything, this is a long way china has to walk on their own, just like korea has done before them. The difference is that koreans was willing to learn from other countries, china refuse to take advice from anyone, so its gonna take time. i have discussed this problem with chinese businessmen having businesses in other countries outside china, they are my sources for most of what i wrote here.

Anything beyond 600dpi is useless. But for 441 dpi it will be almost photographic quality. And don't listen to apple.32x dpi is far from retina.

You clearly don't know anyth... moreActually, it's you who doesn't know much about displays: any ppi higher than 300 doesn't make any sense, since that's where the human eye isn't able to discern individual pixels anymore. so even if it was 1000 ppi, you wouldn't perceive it as higher quality than 300 ppi.

With higher resolution screen, all software will need to re-optimise all graphical image and icons with larger size, that's including texts need to use higher font size. Even th new ipad suffered the same fate. Their apps need to be HD compatible, mean the app will auto switch to different set of image/icon/text size when it detected different ipad gen. It also mean bigger apps size too.

Why r they making this jump already it`s unnecessary to have 440 ppi 720p is enough for up to 5 inch(phones), 5-6 inch(phablets) should have 900x1600 resolution, 7 and 7.7 inch should have 1920x1200 or 1920x1080 and above 7 inch should have 2560x1600/2560x1440. With pc`s I always think more is better but you don`t wear pc in your pocket and it`s meant to be plugged in whole day(cause that`s exactly what will happen to these phones, they`re gonna stay plugged in all day long).

Would it be possible to read the letters and words clearly from very close range on 441 ppi screen, which is beyond normal human retinal refraction density ?

Magnifying glass??? You clearly don't know anything about displays and related technology do you? A higher ppi doesn't mean everything on screen will look really small. It only means that each individual pixel will be that much more finer and hence anything curved on the screen will look that much more smoother. Higher the ppi better will be the image on screen it has nothing to do with the size of whatever is on the screen."

Apparently you have no understanding of resolution in relation to size ...
I, as a photographer, i can say with the utmost confidence that anything above 300dpi is useless !!! (and 300 is visible only by someone with verry good vision )
