Rev-9, 08 Mar 2021would Hasselblad partnership also improve video quality?almost definitely wont change the quality because the lenses are still Sony mobile lenses and they are plastic lenses and they are not hasselblad lenses and hasselblad as history of camera partnerships with Motorola and Vertu mobiles both were really really bad and I still think this is a business partnership and branding exercise more than a technical partnership

For example, the Mi 11 with Harman audio is not superior to the Mi 10. Huawei Mate 40 Pro’s video recording is a bit of a mess too. If these companies supplied components directly to the manufacturer, that will be a different story. But unfortunately these are just merely branding.

oneplus (/BBK) is so mediocre
they are the literal definition of boring and plain
every company has its own special stuff
xiaomi sets a new record with hardware every now and then and dominates the budget market
huawei has their new harmonyOS, Mate X, ecosystem and godly camera hardware and auto night mode
google has pure stock android and the best still shots
apple has their whole ecosystem thing and A chips
samsung has best in class screen and the Note and Fold series and along with huawei are the only ones with a sorta functioning ecosystem to compete with apple's
OnePlus and BBK,....have nothing...just plain stereotypical phones that look identical to every other phone now that ditched the popup and have nothing special
nothing distinguishes them apart from only one trump card: OOS, which is now 25% OneUI

clicking pics as good as the OnePlus 8 Pro (or S21U lol) ??? MIGHT get the 9 if the 9 Pro is not as gigantic as 6,8.

Marketing at it's finest. They put 150 mil in Hasselblad pockets and in return they get logo application on their phones and some post processing color science guidance. In other words Hasselblad managed to get some funding for minimal work.

to be fair, the specs of the oneplus 9 pro should be like this
SoC: Snapdragon 888
Display: 3200x1440 120hz with 240hz touch sampling rate
Storage (even without expansion): 512gb 12gb ram (base), 1TB 12gb ram (im still very sure people will complain it has no storage expansion
Camera: 48MP Sony IMX689 (Same as as last year) or 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera, 48MP Sony IMX689 or IMX598 ultrawide camera with 13mm lens, 13MP 5x telephoto, or a 16MP 5x telephoto (with the sensor taken from OnePlus 8T's ultrawide camera) a 13/12MP 2x telephoto
Battery: 4850mAh, or 4950mAh (3% increase from last year's 8 pro)
Charging: 65W SuperDart (let's just hope that OnePlus won't remove the brick in the box)

Hmm, with the hasselblad partnership, i assume that the Oneplus 9 Pro, with upgraded hardware, SD 888, better software and Hasselblad tuning, would be one of the best camera phones (not best for versetality like Huawei or Samsungs, but maybe the quality will improve to match the Iphone). But however i don't have high hopes for Oneplus 9, maybe it will have the same main cam as 9 Pro, but the Ultrawide Macro, depths camera will make it less appealing to customers that understand cameras.
Oneplus needs to improve :
1. Image processing
2. Selfie camera hardware with wider lens
3. Zoom camera hardware
4. Wider ultrawide lens
5. Better colours and white balance consistency
6. Better HDR, and make the image not too contrasty
7. Improve the night scape, since Nightscape sucks on even the 8 Pro
8. Improve the video HDR to the iphone level
9. Make the stabilization to be as insane as on Mi 10 Ultra
10. Include Night vision mode like Huawei phones
11. Able to take great night shots without night mode, that really improves the overall experience. Not everyone has time for 3 - 7 seconds for 1 image.
