Apple A6 found to have custom Apple Core instead of A15 or A9

17 September, 2012
It seems Apple went through the trouble of creating their own ARMv7 based design for the A6 chip.

iOS simply doesnt have that feature yet. They may eventually add this feature in iOS 9. Just like they added multitasking post iPhone 3GS.

Apple is a good learner. They like to learn from others successes. But others, they just copy all the critical stuff from Apple like bouncy menus and shiny icons.

Like i said, no need to switch between a calc app and another app and trying to remeber the numbers in your head and switching back again to the app cause you forgot what to type in the calc app. Ios doesnt have that yet. Probably in the future. But now, no.

I know exactly what multitasking is. You on the other hand seem to want to slate the iphone's multitasking abilities without having the first clue as to what it is or isn't capable of.

Floating apps are written apps & android itself doesn't do them without someone first coding them. In exactly the same way that other apps are written. So if someone were to write floating apps for ios then the iphone would be capable of doing them. It's a limitation of the app availabity rather than OS ability.
You stated the iphone couldn't multitask by downloading something whilst doing another task.. You're wrong. It can.

In fact iOS multitasking for apps works in exactly the same way that android apps multitask. ie the app has to be coded not to be shut down when minimised. So if an android app has coding to pause or shut down it will. Same the other way for an ios app - if it's coded to continue when minimised it will...

& I ask again - who would want to try & continue to watch a video whilst doing something else? (& certainly on a tiny screen - as a floating app it's not even taking advantage of the great screen that the note has...). If someone texts me whilst I'm watching a film I'll either ignore it or pause the video whilst I read & respond. In the same way If I'm watching a film at home & someone calls I'll pause the telly whilst I chat.....

                            ...could be true.

But it may also be possible that true multitasking is highly overrated(be it in mobiles or PCs), until Apple finally manages to offer it in iPhones. Then it will be "revolutionary".

Any screen bigger that 3.5" was overkill, until Apple finally managed 4" in iPhone 5. Of course, now anything bigger that 4" is absurd. Apple has just "raised the brick(er bar)"

You see, Apple is still learning from others. But the others are copying from Apple.

Excuse my simple thinking, but I'm average user, not a geek.

Who on earth is able to watch a video that's been minimised...? & as for all the other stuff. Yep - Iphone does all that just fine with no problems.

It has no problem downloading in the background whilst moving on to other tasks.

I think people really really need to learn what the iphone is capable of in terms of multitasking before trying to bash something they know nothing about.

If you mean it pauses games and videos when you minimise them then yes it does (who would want their game or video continuing in the background whilst you check your SMS...)? it would mean that you either crashed or you missed part of your film..

I'm on a GSM network & I can talk & use data at the same time. I can download things in the background, I can open up calculators whilst web browsing to make a calculation. Listen to music whilst reading a book etc..
