I have seen lot of company's hiring people to develop and then screwing them with shitty policies and have the audacity to copyright their work under company's name and profiting from it for lifetime. Its feels good that LG was muscled out of smartphone industry

I wonder why the unexplained negativity regarding LG?
I have a LG G8x and I'm pretty happy for its audio quality and to some extent, cameras are good enough too.
I understand if anyone has a bad experience with LG, but what's with this no-logic bashing ("I wouldn't get one for free", sort of)?
And, why must they not defend their 4G patents?
At least they're not defending a rounded border rectangle design like Samsung and Apple are... remember their cat fights in the court?

Oppo, Xiaomi, Realme and Hauwei all got their start by making cheap disposable phones. It is only recently that Xiaomi and Hauwei are making 'top tier' devices to compete.
One+ on the other hand had a great no compromises attitude which was enticing but the lack of sales is leading them to the multi device structure which is what will be their demise.
Samsung is and will forever be on top.

Imagine it. Maybe they should spend less time trying to defend patents that really mean very little to the average end user and work on trying to produce a decent phone. They are one of the most faded phone manufacturers about. The LG G5 was the biggest disaster of a phone ever and ever since nobody will go near them. I sometimes wonder why they bother to continue. Their market share must be worse than Sony. They're going around trying to defend 4G patents and meanwhile they're doing nothing in the market. Need to rethink their priorities. Samsung, oneplus, oppo, xiaomi, realme, huawei and many other brands are now kicking their butt.

Not really yet, they can appeal.
Depending on how much or the % they copied, they may get away with it - which is what the patent system is about - minimising the changes while also similar enough to get the benefits so you can get away with a lawsuit or paying royalties.
