09 March 2021
The new gaming flagship from Asus will pack a larger display and the most RAM we've seen on a smartphone yet.

Hemedans, 09 Mar 2021am not fan of those youtube speed test, but rog phone most ... moreActually wrong, instead the SPEC benchmarks from Anandtech shows that either the A13 or A14 sustained performance surpassed the ROG Phone 3’s SD865.

But in all fairness if I look at Gary Sims’s Speed Test G benchmark, the A13 (iPhone 11 Pro Max) has slightly better initial performance than the ROG 3 but throttles down 15% whereas the ROG barely throttles. But, the A14 in the iPhone 12 doesn’t throttle much, having better sustained performance than the ROG, just gets hot like a stove.

Front design is way better than iphone and galaxy.

                    I expect:
                    -Headphone jack returning
                    -12GB RAM/256 ROM, 16/512, and 18/512 (unless Samsung surprises us with a 1TB UFS 3.1 hard drive)
                    -ESS Sabre DAC
                    -6,000mAH battery
-same camera as before only 16MP Ultrawide and 8MP telephoto replacing the macros (gotta compete with IQOO)
-$900/$1,000/$1,100 (add $100 for the US despite the cheaper one potentially not being available in the US).

                    Strix edition:
                    -Snapdragon 870
-same camera as the ROG 3
-drop the panel to 120Hz max
-5,600mAH battery to compensate for the return of the headphone jack
                    -8GB RAM/128 ROM, and 8/256 version
-$700/$750 ($100 more in the US where only the 256GB version will appear).

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2021holy schnapp, even this phone has more ram than a $700 lapt... moream not fan of those youtube speed test, but rog phone most of time completely destroy iphones in speed test.

if you check anandtech sustained benchmarks, rogphone can maintain same perfomance for long time, compare to A14/A13 iphones.

friend of mine who was iphone user since iphone 4 to iphone x moved to rog phone 2, He like it more than iphone and will upgrade to rog phone 5.

STE FAR 05, 09 Mar 2021Sad?! Image the power they could punch with 32GB.bad idea- 8-12gb was the sweet spot, 16gb was a bit overkill, and >18gb is just straight up idiotic

Blutbad-fuchsbau, 09 Mar 2021Normally, Asus brings some features from their ROG series t... moreIt probably should. Last time the excuse was the external 5g modem takes extra space (and they didn't want to go below 5000 Mah).
If the size remains same, we might actually see headphone jack returning.

Normally, Asus brings some features from their ROG series to the Zenfone series. I really hope the top end variant of the Zenfone 8 has a 5Ah battery and the same 65w charging as the Rog 5. The full 5Ah battery will charge in less than an hour!

I also hope the Zenfone 8 brings back the jack as well as sticks with the triple card slot! I need 2 sims and a 1TB micro SD.

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2021Asus should compete with Redmi Note 10 Pro. Mid-range stock... moreThey need to release just one phone. I don't want any big features or anything outstanding. Just a no distraction display, headphone jack, triple slot, two cameras, LCD/AMOLED (doesn't matter), 90hz atleast, plastic/glass back (again doesn't matter). Atleast a decent midrange or upper midrange chipset, 5g support doesn't matter. Again, it doesn't even have be anything outstanding, price all of them below $300 and I'm sold. Asus doesn't release that Max Pro series has great fan following. Hope they release some devices this year.

Anonymous, 09 Mar 2021This means no Snapdragon 888+? Too soon. Maybe with Fold 3 or a little later.

These are the most practical devices available. At least 250 grams? Check. RGB? Check. A perfect utilitarian tool.
