I ONLY see two versions of this ROG Phone 5 - the vanilla BASE model and the ULTIMATE version. That middle PRO version is just a decoy to squeeze you of another extra ~$100 and jump to the ridiculously-priced top-of-the-line white ULTIMATE edition. Very smart marketing 101...and it will work too.

Hmmmmm gaming phone is getting weird. I mean I love the design and else but doesn't a phone with half the price of this can run all games in maximum settings? Or just a regular flagship phone?

Asus should partner with various game devs so they can release 'exclusives' mobile games. I know I might sound weird but why not try it right? For the sake of experimentation, who knows it might be a success.

What's the usage of 18 gb ram on a phone?

salarx, 10 Mar 2021Well atleast not in India where the base variant is priced ... moreWell in India the problem is accessories. All the accompanying accessories are notoriously difficult to find.

I was actually really interested in this but with a little more of my extra savings I'm gonna get my an Alienware Area 51m instead.

800 Euro till 1300 Euro.....? It's a bit too much.

What is the ROG vision display? Is it similar to the MI 11 Ultra display on the rear?

I already thought that having two variant like what ZTE did with the nubia Red Magic 6 was already too much, but now ASUS beat the line with three variant. Having said that though, I only see the difference between the three with the ROG Vision display and storage/RAM configuration. Tbh, I don't really see the need of having that ROG Vision display in the first place, so I'd just take the vanilla ROG Phone 5 all the way with 256GB/12GB RAM configuration. 16GB and 18GB of RAM is just way too overkill for me. However, I'm not sure if I would pick this ASUS phone over ZTE's nubia Red Magic 6.

Still, at least it's great to see the 3.5mm audio jack coming back in big time! Definitely got to compare that with LG's Quad DAC system in the V60 and also the V50.

Only 2 things they needed to improve were cameras and display....and by the looks of it..they pretty much ignored it...now tell me why would any one buy this one instead of ROG 3..which definitely going to be much cheaper now ..
