Poco X3 Pro launch teased for March 30

10 March 2021
This may be the first phone in the family since the original Poco F1 to pack a Snapdragon 800-series chipset at a price of INR 21,000.

Sort by:

Everyone: you want to revive the spirit of F1 no its not possible
Poco: its necessary

Snapdragon has gone mad these days.

Before there were 835, 845, 855, 865.
Now there is 732, 750, 860, 870, 875, 888

Snapdragons naming is more confusing than even xiaomi's naming

Anonymous, 11 Mar 2021You are the first person I know who do this recycle thingNot for everyone though. Where I live 5g is a distant thing. 4g speeds are fine and a lot of people use primarily wifi. I can achieve 50mbps on 4g in a lot of areas I frequent. So if dispensing with 5g means a much better price, a lot of people will take it.

Mediatek sux, 11 Mar 2021You really dont want mediocre quality oled.Oled has lower ppi even with the same number IPS's ppi

Anonymous, 11 Mar 2021You are the first person I know who do this recycle thingYou must be living in Europe or America.
In Asia this is very common.
I do like to give 4-5 years old phone (after me & kids using it)
but some might sell it for maybe US$ 20 - US$ 60.
There's thousands of this 2nd hand handphone shop just near my city.

  • Poco F1 user here

Iqoo 3 8gb/128gb already for sale in India for 25K INR(350 $). So yeah 21K pricing from Poco seems possible with few tradeoffs maybe.

[deleted post]I bet you're american who upgrade you're phone every 2 years.
In other part of the world, old phone got recycled.

I buy new phone every year, 1 for work/business, 1 for family and games.
I don't want to mix my banking with games (for security)

My 2 years old phone,
I gave it to my kids
after my kids use it,
we gave away the phone to my driver or maid or office boy or whoever need it.
So future proofing is really needed.

second,
when new tech come in, the band were recycled.
When 3G coming, 3G use the most band, and 2G got sideline
When 4G coming, same... right now in here, 3G only have one 5MHz band so, is HSPA (not HSPA+). It used to be very fast HSPA+ (2x5MHz band). And it used to be on multiple band.

So, yes.
5G modem is good.
4G only in 2021 is not good.

Poco and xiaomi naming scheme seems like a something from a random number generator.

I hope its a rebranded redmi note 10 with an 8 series processor.

potato4k, 10 Mar 2021I'm guessing a rebadged Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G with Snapd... moreHaving a old 800 series makes total sense in the buyers perspective.

Having Snapdragon 750 with 5G makes not sense when most users are not even going use 5G for next two years of so...

I see them highlight X, 21, 30, M, and PRO.

I think they are talking of X30 PRO on 21 March.

Sd 855 perhaps? It's still very fast performer. As long as it have amoled at least 90hz and have design and build quality like redmi note 10 pro it will real value for money. Xiaomi redmi just wasted these note 10 series with such inferior chipsets none of them is as fast as mediatek dimensity 800u.

Plot Twist: is a Poco F1 but with an AMOLED screen and SD 860.

  • Woohoo

I'm more interested in the pricing for Realme GT, I hope they bring it soon!
