I've gotten so used to 2-year long warranties as a standard here, didn't really think that it wasn't the case for the most of the world... Well, good that OP gives 2 years of warranty now.

AnonD-989007, 15 Mar 2021Wait, some of you guys have only 1 year warranty for electr... moreDo you guys get full amount in return??
What if the condition of phone detoriates during use in the first few days?? Let's say you have a dent or something due to a drop or a screen crack? What then? Will they charge you for that?

What do they do with the phone you have returned?

Strawhat, 15 Mar 2021A51 gives 3 years of security update, 2 years os updateA51 is getting 3 OS updates.

Whackcar, 15 Mar 2021Those are security updates. That is worth shite. 2 years... moreThose are 3 years of full OS updates (feature updates, new OS versions) and an additional year of security updates. Call it rubbish if you want, but that policy makes them better than pretty much any other Android phone maker out there.

nanagdad, 15 Mar 2021Not happy with the OnePlus 9 & 9r flat displays. A flat... moreCurved displays are useless and annoying

Fine 4 years of updates or gtfoh

Mi & Sam phones here having 2y warranty with first year accidental damage coverage.

Not happy with the OnePlus 9 & 9r flat displays. A flat display is a major major deal breaker for me. To those shouting flat flat I'm not clamsy like you when handling the phone. I'm going to be looking at the display a whole lot & cannot afford the souring bezels on the sides. Nowonder most flagships have curved displays including the the same coming oneplus 9 pro. I feel cheated when I pay an exhorbitant price on the flat screen yikes. 🗿

Strawhat, 15 Mar 2021A51 gives 3 years of security update, 2 years os updateThis is about warranty against defects, not software update policy

AnonD-989007, 15 Mar 2021Wait, some of you guys have only 1 year warranty for electr... moreYes. Could be 1 , 2 or 3 months from the seller (seller is not manufacturer) than 1 year from the manufacturer.

therealcasco, 15 Mar 2021And what does this 2 years of warranty covers? meaning soft... moreHardware and software.
But obviously does not include stuff like :

- submerging phone in water for fun
- root access

A51 gives 3 years of security update, 2 years os update

Olym1mk2, 15 Mar 2021Some shops give only 6 months warranty. It's all up to... moreActually no,the Chinese law ensure smartphone have one year warrenty...Unless you buy those copycat phone made by very small company, you will have one year warrenty instead of six months

Softening the $1000 bombshell in a few days.

AnonD-989007, 15 Mar 2021Wait, some of you guys have only 1 year warranty for electr... moreIn China we have 7 days no question return for online shopping too and 15 days free replace if you have any problem.
Most phones in China have only one year warrenty, some have 18 months(like Redmi note7 series). But you can buy extended warrenty in a low price.(For example,if you buy a Mi11 in Mi store, you need only pay 159CNY/around 20Euros to get another year warrenty, for low end phone like Redmi Note9Pro5G(Mi10T Lite in China),you only pay 49CNY/around 6Euros for one year extend warrenty)

They should reveal everything like this. And they should skip the launch event.

If they reveal everything officially like this, What's the point of hosting an event?

Wait so an a51 gets 3 years of OS updates but a 9 pro gets 2 years? xD

  • Anonymous

Rubbish. They should rename to OverPriced 9.

No it's not worth bragging about, especially when OP has a very bad tracking record for OS and security updates. Because of fans like you OP has gone south, you kept buying their phones and they kept ignoring what the fans want up to the point where we are now. Total garbage.
