too costly. and why 9R? it should be 9 and 9 pro only. 9 price should be of 9R and 9 pro price of 9. too bad - premium flagship on a budget and never settle tag lines is not meant anymore

Oxygen OS much better than Samsung One ui.

If they are pricing it this high they should have launched these phones on January. They launched it two months after Galaxy S21 series when S21 is coming with a lot of discounts. People are going to compare discounted price of S21 series with the launch price of this 9 series.

If oneplus had launched this is January they would have competed with the original price of S21 series and not with the discounted price.

iPhone or any other flagships remaining microSD is better than this.

Welpp. There goes my wish. I would buy the pro but then they decided to go for curved display. Zzz. The vanilla model has too many downgrade no ois. No new adaptive display.

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2021But they aren’t Hasselblad cameras are they, they are Sony Indeed, Hasselblad doesn't make sensors, what a joke.

A decent flagship-grade spec, but $1070 for the Pro variant? I'm not so sure about that. Makes me wonder why CNET said that the OnePlus 9 "delivers super powers at a great price". Great price? No thanks, that honour goes to LG.

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2021But they aren’t Hasselblad cameras are they, they are Sony Do they cost 10 000 & mass 1k?
Obviously they aren't hasselblad but 1+ needs help with image processing and that's where they can provide immediate help.
Other than that I don't think they can offer much.
The fact of the matter is that it's the smartphone associated companies that have been driving r&d in image capture & processing for the last several years. The old school cam companies have a lot of patents, especially when it comes to demosaicing, but their solutions tend to be brute force (giant sensors, super expensive & heavy lenses) while the mobile industry has much greater constraints. However given the industry's massive scale advantages over the cam companies things like excellent quality but small lenses, supplemental sensors to help determine true lighting conditions, and more computationally expensive processing seem like they can become more competitive.
