I prefer the earlier renders of the rectangular camera cutout. The pill shape just feels weird.

My wife loves her Huawei.
I would preferred that the army and the government departments employers stay away from it but let us (comenars) enjoy the futuristic fixtures they offere. That's all I have to say.

Its UWA the same sensor as my old Mate 20, but image processing are improved, big time. Not to mention using main sensor, intermediate zoom at 35mm, 50mm, even up to 70mm produce great results with minimal detail loss (Super Res algorithm, things I like about Huawei, where others only rely on crop digital & solely on optical). Theres 80mm optical, usable up to 135mm. 5x zoom are not my type of focal length, so I wont bother much with periscope. Bought it just for $500 3 month ago, fully satisfied.

++ P40 has noticeable worse ultrawide compared to P40 Pro.

Yea, same here P30 Pro, I think I will go for Oppo Flagship as next one. Had 4 HTC Phones in a row, than 2 Huawei now it's time to change again. Just don't like Samsung GUI.

I love Huawei and wouldn't be put off by a little 'google' issue!
