Good for iPhone 5, but the Nokia Lumia 900 seems to fail, big time in every test, to bad for a flagship phone with less than a year.

You must never believe Anandtech's benchmarks.
They working like promotional ($+).
Never trust.

MobileOpinions, 23 Sep 2012I do not understand why people keep on comparing the Androi... moreThe only issue is that in it's base use Android is every bit as simple as IOS and even IOS lags, freezes, crashes, and reboots. There is no perfect system. In fact IOS 5 had more crashes than any others at it's time.

Denzo, 23 Sep 2012Are you stupid? Thats like saying the iPhone is made by Fox... moreAre you a worthless loser? That's funny considering that the Apple SoC's tend to be identical to the exynos save for the gpu and a couple minor changes. They "innovate" samsung's modifications and call it their design. Duh

AnonD-59657, 24 Sep 2012It is very simple because Apple optimized both hardware and... moreYeah Android is just made to work on a general specification of processor architecture and phone layout so it is very hard for manufacturers to optimise each phone to run as well as it can, so the best way is to just throw loads of horsepower at it and see how much sticks.
But the Apple A6 processor is made just for that phone and IOS is optimised to make all the separate parts gel together which is fairly easy to do when IOS is so basic and hasn't really changed that much in 5 years.

dr. pankaj verma, 23 Sep 2012Its so stupid to compare quad-core chip performance to a du... moreIt is very simple because Apple optimized both hardware and software for the best performance in iPhone 5 which cannot be done by SGS3.
SGS3 has to use Quadcore to overcome the weakness in Android OS to achieve the overall performance.

of crouse Benchmark is important
but u cant compare screen sizes plus did u see how the application run on the iphone with black boarders on the sides LOL
we need to test phones with same screen sizes and same Resulations then..

The figures are very impressive, which makes it even more confusing as to why Apple didn't make larger strides in improving ios.
Ios6 works perfectly well on the 4s, and there are very few new features that will take full advantage of the new hardware, so how is a better CPU/GPU going to make such a huge difference?
Maybe there might be a little noticeable difference in web browsing and in some games, but the overall user experience is already very smooth according to Apple so what is all that extra power doing/needed for?
For what it;s worth, my own view is that, as a rule, ios is limited by definiton because it generally has to be compatible with the lowest common denominator of their available hardware. However we are already at a point where the few really noticeable improvements (eg turn by turn navigation) are only available to 4s/5 owners anyway. Why not just cut loose and free ios to use all that available power.
Just adding a load of features that Android has already had for years is neither innovative nor will it in any way stretch the new A6 chipset (or the old A5 one for that matter).
For example, the available options when you select a picture - such as sending it to Facebook/Twitter, using it for a wallpaper or contact etc - do not need an A6 chipset. I know this because they are features that have been available on Android for years.
It's such a shame that such an immemse piece of hardware has been uncharacteristically by sloppy software from Apple.

Yani, 23 Sep 2012The one thing Apple should brag about in their keynote and ... moreWe don't know much about the architecture of the A6 chip yet so can't really say how good it is yet.
Because it could just be optimised for the iPhone which seems to have some raw power but honestly the iPhone is so limited and locked down it really doesn't need to do a lot.
And people are comparing benchmarks to the US S3 which only has the dual core Snapdragon and it's the quad core international version that's been topping all the performance tables, so that's what it really needs to be compared to.

The one thing Apple should brag about in their keynote and they forgot to mention their custom designed A6 chip is better than any ARM based chip on the current market.
But I still don't know how will the utilize all that great power when their phone is totally locked down!
For a Motorola phone I would say OK, you can use that extra power on the Webtop app and transform your phone into a REAL PC!!!, but you can't do that on an iPhone can you?

Actually i just like my phone to open what i asked of him right away, not 4 sec later or 2 later, but right now. If iphone 5 does that ill buy him if s3 does it than ill buy that. Benchmark scores are for fools it gives no info on how software behaves irl.

Its so stupid to compare quad-core chip performance to a dual-core 1.2 Ghz one. I dont understand how can a dual core 1.2 Ghz chip can perform better than a 1.4 Ghz Quad-Core chip. After all the difference is too steep and it means something. Stop fooling around with these type of articles please!
