hey guys, c'mon don't quickly judge this phone as bad, it's not yet released tho.

for me those 2 looks capable enough for low budget phone.
capacitive touchscreen, stereo loudspeaker, FM radio. surely my mom will more than happy with this simple phone. :)

I think I'll get the 309. I've already have dual sim nokia x2-02, and my auntie used it quite happily now.

I'm android user btw. but I'm always open minded to any mobile phone.
nokia map is quite tempting anyway, lol.

Sure th... moreu r right about everything except one thing, they conquered the world already, and if nokia turned s40 to a smartphone platform(it's inevitable to see that coming),then android won't be the world's most used smartphone OS anymore

it's very see interesting to see how S40 is progressing, whatsapp and viber consider it a platform of its own.it's inevitable that in a few months , this is will be the world's largest smartphone os by marketshare

Sure the Asha series are not likely to conquer the world or beat the GS3...
...and that's coz they were never meant to!

Asha and other low-end phones have saved Nokia's hide more than a few times, and I'd say it's a pretty good strategy to play to your strengths.

Anonymous, 25 Sep 2012Not again, same another useless phones from Asha-series! Th... moreJust because you'd want a 6" quad-core super-phone clocked at 100GHz and a Terabyte of memory doesn't mean everyone else does!

In markets like India and other 3rd world countries, A lot of people will happily buy a $99 phone that covers the basics - plenty of storage, a good music player and so on with a decent 3" screen.

The "Asha" series was predominantly designed for India (even the name is Hindi).
There is a reason these don't have 3G - most of India doesn't have 3G except the cities; and people there already have mid to high end phones.
