Mi 11 ultra was launched in 8th of April this year in Malaysia buy unfortunately as of today 5th of June I still not able to buy any!! Why is the stock still not available in Malaysia???

I commented on a xiaomi Netherlands page about the xiaomi mi 11 ultra would be on sale. They responded with "it is not yet available. From May 11th!"

I have not found any such info about a Europe release else where

John, 10 Apr 2021You can fully reset the phone and sell it with no problem. ... moreThat's good to know. Thanks for that feedback. My initial enthusiasm for the Mi 11 Ultra however has somewhat waned not so much due to the tech or internals, but moreso because of price. To get the fully max'd Mi 11 Ultra 12GB/512GB the price will go well over $1,500 USD. Rethinking, I can buy a decent mobile computer for that kind money although it's a different category of product. Maybe I will bypass all together, keep my Mi 10 Pro and wait and see how the MiX fold unfolds (pun intended), or Samsung's 200MP S22 Ultra forthcoming in 2022/Q1. Cheers..

Not a fan of Apple but learned how to step back and objectively look at the things. There are definitely cases when Apple is way more useful and not talking only about phones. Anyway thanks to this competition we can enjoy better and better devices on both sides.

Anonymous, 09 Apr 2021Oh yes please do go into another one of your rants claiming... moreIf God did come down, he'd choose Android any day of the week!!!
It's the OS of choice. Apple already lost the smartphone war same way they lost the PC war.

tokyojerry, 10 Apr 2021Hi. Thanks for this informative insight. Not being so tech... moreIt's got nothing to with resetting the phone.
            Xiaomi just locked EDL mode.

EDL mode was used to get your device up and running incase one "bricks" their phone.
Now, to unbrick your phone, you might have to visit the service center and can't do it from home through EDL mode.

tokyojerry, 10 Apr 2021Hi. Thanks for this informative insight. Not being so tech... moreFrom the link attached, it seems like it only happens if you bricked the phone. If you don't brick it, you can continue resetting it to factory default and sell it as usual.

It's when you bricked the phone and want to unbrick it that the EDL problem starts to show. If you just fully reset the phone to factory default and sell it to someone, you shpuld have no problem doing so.

Not being so technically inclined about this EDL stuff, does that mean when it comes around to reselling the phone and want to reset back to factory shipped state, I will not be able to do so? I am considering to replace my existing Mi 10 Pro with the Mi 11 Ultra. Thanks.

I would care a lot of more about custom ROM supports when the phone has been discontinued. Xiaomi imposed an EDL Lock Down mode where you can only reset the phone by only bringing it to an authorised Mi service centre. You can read about it here: https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-edl-unbrick-authorized-mi-accounts/

The new control centre (pull down menu) really ticks the right boxes in my heart. The features and UI are satisfactory for me as I'm not a power user.
Though the most frustrating thing about MIUI is the amount of bugs in it. They are not major but they are annoying. For example, when I enable WiFi, I cannot close the menu until it successfully connected to the available network (if no network is available then I can close it just fine).
There's just bugs like this scattered throughout and it affects the overall experience.
