HTC didn't copy the Lumia 820 & 920 with the 8x, but the Lumia 800 (and the N9 before that). So it's more than 2 weeks......

I do love both Nokia and HTC but I am a HTC lover all the way. I prefer the way it looks on the outside and the inside.

Ooookkk? Nokia, are you seeking to be the only Windows Phone seller because that front panel is MICROSOFT'S issue not HTC's. Hey if they do ban it, this may backfire and create less WP sales so it's like they're shooting themselves in the foot but if they want to destroy a new OS then ok.
I'll be with Jolla on the MeeGo Plane.

Pls that's definitely not true, its just a rumor...and stop making false comments using this as an opportunity to say something bad about Nokia... Phones have been having many colors but nobody noticed it trill Nokia made thier flag ship in colors but still the will no ban HTC cos of that..

I can't really see how HTC copied the front panel design from Nokia. It is a rectangular panel, with the standard MS touch-sensitive buttons and a colored margin. The shape is not the same, the size is not the same, even the corner radius is different. And HTC has more color added in the speaker grill. So, it is as different as a phone can get. If so, we can tell that any rectangular glass covered front panel is stolen from Nokia?

But Sony doesnt sue anyone and thats the best thing about them. They're not afraid of competition. They are not monopolizing the market. I hope patent issues will be solved in smartphones. Just let the innovations grow.

Nokia and Samsung both are temporary for windows phone. But HTC is Permanent life time for Windows phone

A phone is maybe just over a year in the design phase at which time drawings, sketches and wax models are shared with operators, third parties, and in this case probably microsoft well before the launch event. Its not like HTC would have started design on this after the Lumia launch, more like that things have been shared along the journey..

Well, it was released BEFORE the Nokia 820, so what should do Sony? Sue Nokia in turn because they copied the 820 from the Acro S?
The truth is that the 820 design (just like the Acro S and LG 8X) is nothing special, so there's nothing to patent.
