If they will manage to put something in there without altering too much the design and weight of the phones, probably they will do it. Otherwise they will pass on this.
The same case scenario with the high refresh rate. If they will manage to find the correct balance between different components that will allow them to use 120Hz refresh rate, they will do it. Of course without lowering the battery life. iPhones don’t have 4500-6000mah batteries like Androids. So it’s more difficult task to implement higher refresh rates and keep decent battery life. That was the reason they didn’t implemented until now. And to put this feature in there just to have it (like many Android phones did, but the users use them in 60Hz to preserve battery), is not Apple style.

LTPO panel used in S21 Ultra is much efficient than original one used in Apple watch (also used in Note 20 Ultra).
This shows that how Android make things perfect instead of using them first.

Now that most Android phones have High refresh rate panels, the cost of these panels has gone down. Apple implementing High refresh rate panel 2-3 years back would have meant they had to pay high costs for the same.
High manufacturing cost = low profit for the company.
Their entire game is based on sucking the consumers dry while offering basic tech (which already exists on other smartphones) at premium price.
Another reason why Android dominates the smartphone world with maximum marketshare.
