Quantom dots are a filter that transforms white light into new shades, not previously available through classic filters.
OLED emits color light by default. No need for any filters.

Samsung is NOT making any OLED screens and never did for TV's, QLED was their answer agaisnt LG OLED tv's and it failed to beat it well using LCD panels never give you any edge agaisnt OLED. Though QLED backlit technology its impressive on its own and brought LCD panels to new levels. So putting QLED on OLED would be really amazing thing and could push OLED to new heights and add new competition in OLED space. As far as its stands now LG is main OLED tv maker in a world and supply all the panels to others OLED tv makers. So it is not really much diversity in OLED space it all goes to LG abilities only provide progress in OLED space, if Samsung will join to this game it might get competition heated again.

Great news, at last Samsung will be able to compete or even surpass LG OLEDs if they QLED tech will work great with OLED panels, but good times coming for future OLED owners, good times :)

Samsung already makes OLED displays. SuperAMOLED is OLED as well. Which is a bit funny considering how everyone is saying OLED this, OLED and how OLED will revolutionise everything, yet we've been actually already been using it for the last decade...

OLED is the best TV technology, and only LG makes OLED TV panels, for some reason! Samsung finally figured out that OLED beats their crappy QLED junk, hands down! It was about time!

They could have done a QD colour filter on LCD technology with near full rec2020 color, and likely dual layer LCD, which together make OLED irrelevant at brighter levels than OLED was doing and fill the gap in from 2019 or earlier.
Plus a good game streaming service and full multimedia recording software on NVIDIA like hardware, would be better than maybe any TV.
Is Mythos still upto date? If it's packages were transfered to steam OS, and android tv put on an android tv emulator, running alongside the NVIDIA game streaming service, that would be way ahead of anything out there, plus they get a cut from of android and streaming services, which can add up closer to the net profit on the TV guaranteeing greatly increased sales.

They have lost the OLED game and they know that. Instead, they are focusing their efforts on MicroLED. That's why they are thinking of using LG's oled panels just like Sony and Panasonic.

Actually Samsung had OLED tv way back in 2013(it was true RGB unlike LG and was better than LG OLED that time).
But they were not happy with OLED that time. So, they buried that OLED.
Now they have new type of OLED technology.

This is totally false news..
Samsung has already developed their own OLED with quantum dot layer.
Samsung was never keen with LG way of using COLOR filter on W-OLED panel.
It's like the news last year Samsung is sourcing BOE OLED for galaxy S21.
