My daughter have a P40 and lots of friends use it, most users don't care of Google, they just buy a phone and get used to it.

    It's miles better then the S10/S20/S20+ that colleagues or friends have. When I bought my phone , I had a near 30% discount on it in May last year. There was a +150 Euro difference if I'd have gone for a S20+. For the price of an S20 Ultra i could have easily gotten a P40 Pro+.
    Other then the shallow focal depth, takes getting used to, due to the low F and big sensor there are 0 issues with the phone.

      Huawei does not need google to be great, im using a p40 and i have no issues with the way hms works, i mean the app gallery isonlygoing to grow and become betterso why write it off before it has even reached its full potential?

Bought Huawei Nova 5T it produced decent photos, better than Samsung S9, S10 & S20 but in comparison with N808 which is now very old and snaps are either hit or miss when it's a hit they are all crape.

            If you buy a cheap Huawei phone ... well that's your problem. As all things cheap are generally crap.

              Good , I hate the AppGallery honestly it needs work, but F. Google they need the competition.
              Also after almost a year of using a P40 Pro sans Google, I can't really complain. The only good thing about Google , was the unlimited Photo's storage, thats going away in June... Soo ... Yeah honestly, I'm rooting for AppGallery.

              Ps: Sadly i trust CCP (no real proof of data syphoning IMHO)more with my data then Google.

But no one ever mention either Cisco or US. US back doors and spying on their own and alias whose widely proven but everyone is playing deff and blind on those facts. I only hope in future evolution of Open Source as the only possible solution to both government and corporate filth, dirt and lies.

                            Now, this is quite a game changer. Let's see how fast and wide its adoption. This might be a chance for Huawei to ease up transition to HMS. They should be put more effort into that instead asking developers to port their apps to HMS by themselves. And yes, as you can see, Harmony OS is still Android, it's the fact, whether you like it or not.

If it were me, since Huawei hasn't DISPROVEN America's concerns, I would allow Huawei to buy/use American parts ('Murican jobs', right?) for the next 5 years until they develop their own in-house GPU (as GSMArena reportes here a while ago). That way, their business isn't tanked and they will then have a GPU solution for even Oppo and Xiaomi once they have THEIR CPUs up and running.

I sideload GMS just to wait for App Gallery to be mature(because when i buy mate 40 pro, still tons of my day to day apps using GMS). From what I saw now, 98% of my day to day apps was at app gallery and support googleless already. Map apps like grab/ grab driver is already not an issue now. I'm sure my next Huawei phone I will say Bye to GMS.

Have you thought that a lot of europeans have older models with GMS (me included, P30Pro) and still using appgallery? And my next will be P50Pro, from the store. F Google.

                                    App Gallery is not enough at the present day. I understand to Huawei's developers work hard but in my case App Gallery is totally unuseful.

                                    All apps that I need I get them by Play Store or sometimes by Aurora Store.

                                      Better and better. I have most of the apps I used with Google on my p40 pro. I don't have banking apps and the game I play most. In appgalary you find many apps. If Huawei grow the same as in the last period, they will become a competitor for Apple directly... Google is for past. And remember most of the manufacturers are Asians so think about...
                                      Ps: let the security, because they won't stay to spy on ppl. They need only for their AI upgrade
