Last year Xperia Mark II Series, even Mark I Series already called and fall into a niche smartphone category by some reviewers like Mr.Mobile and others out there because of what and the shifting strategy that Sony's had done with their new approach to their recent Xperias compared to 3-4 years ago (XZ/Z era).

Photo Pro apps even were very intimidating at first trial by some mainstream users and reviewers as it was very technical and only the one who uses the Sony Alpha camera most of the time feels like home using that specialty app. Sure, influencers began to notice Xperia again as their approach is out of this world, but Sony Xperia new target market is still enthusiasts/purists and professional workers.

            But, if they like so much the Chinese brands and say that those are the best phones in the market, why the need to come to Sony or Apple posts to say this bad things?
            I mean if your brand is the best brand, why the need to say that other brands are bad or useless?
            Either they actually do not trust that and need some sort of confirmation of their own beliefs (from other users) or they are just bad people who just want to create dispute and instigate.
            Of course, everybody is entitled to an opinion and this is a free site nevertheless, but some people are taking it too far.

              People here will criticize if they don't like something irrespective of the brand.
              Are you getting paid to maintain positive comments on Sony articles?? Are you on Sony payroll to make sure marketing is done properly? Coz every year there are truckload of Sony fans swarming comments section yet they never themselves buy latest Sony phones and neither does the larger public.

And by "wins," I'm assuming you mean based on the telephoto abilities of the camera. But it doesn't seem to have the win in audio, screen resolution, or even in the ability to have an SD card. People like what they like, but dismissing a phone based on a single spec seems a bit specious.

                      what's a variable telephoto lens? is that new?

                        4k is overkill and unnecessary.
                        Even 2k is getting removed from numerous devices.

Fans come and start expressing their positive opinions, and then the few of the always usual suspects start kicking in.

                              Music Magpie, a used electronics dealer here will right now buy an 11 Pro Max 256gb for £550, as opposed to an S21 Ultra 256gb for £430.

                              One plus 8 Pro 256gb gets you £175, Oppo Find 2X 256gb for £150, Xperia 1 II 256gb for £271, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 256gb for £200. Huawei’s are for all intents and purposes worthless.

                              iPhone resale values are not what they once were, but are still on average far ahead of android. But again this is likely to differ by market region.

                                LG, Sony, HTC are v'ctims of their own undoing.
                                They simply couldn't match up to other brands, kept overpriced products on the market and consequently kept losing marketshare and people's trust as well.

                                    70mm is a good focal length and can give good images with digital zoom till 95mm
                                    After that you can switch to 105mm which is more convenient than zooming 10x while your 5x -10x zoom shots will be of lower quality compared to sony. Which is more practical zoom than 10-100x

                                      Must be another figment of your imagination.
                                      I praised the Oppo Find X2 Pro as it was one of the best phones of 2020. Never used it as a daily driver.

                                        Liking much the 360 spatial audio speakers addition, frosted back and new shutterbutton design.
                                        Guess some will also be amazed by that first 120/240 hz 4K screen, the variable focal point zoom cam, and those new gaming oriented features.
                                        So glad to also see exmors all over the back this time around. And also Sonys now declared dedication to "no puncholes or notches", and to their "intended consumer market" approach.

                                        5 III announcement was quite a surprise here. Great improvements over my 5 II too, but a bit too soon I guess.
                                        Well, 5II price should obviously drop now so it'll be a nobrainer to buy as it is just an excellent device in all aspects.
