They killed off the mini, by launching SE2 before the mini. The mini is what the SE2 should have been. the form factor is perfect, the price is not.

The 12 mini is still big enough to consume media, and at least it is not poking into your ribs (when you put it in your jacket) or hips (men pants) when you sit down, and you don't drop a smaller phone as often as a bigger one because it fits way better in your hands

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2021Everything is a gimmick until it reaches on your iPhone.. Not seen any gimmicks on my iPhone. Switched from Samsung after using 7+ years of their phones since the Note 3. Hated the 6s because it was a bendable cheap quality phone but started again with the 11 and it was fine.

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2021The moment you classify them as gimmicks tells me that you ... morelmao nah I'll trust the guy who actually looked into how the OS performs himself, than you who watched some dropkick on YouTube who OBVIOUSLY has an axe to grind against Apple.

You Apple haters are so sweet, always flooding every Apple thread with your inane comments. Never adding anything of value.

Underdisplay face recognition is the stupidest idea ever when it comes to biometric, security and front camera design.
Regardless how much one is overhyped for underdisplay camera, the truth is that the RAW quality is far from good, and while a picture can use many AI enhancements, biometric need RAW data, using a pop up, a bezel or a notch/bezel hybrid (the display around the notch only displaying status icons and without any background image), or even the Samsung's disappearing camera (which is a pop up but inside the phone) are much better alternatives.
This craze of 100% display/bezeless phones is stupid, useless, is actually unpractical for many people who need a bit of spare room to avoid many false touch trigger, and is only causing issues, stupid solutions (notch, punch holes, underdisplay camera) and a big increase in devices price.

With so many content on... moreI definitely want a small iPhone but I couldn’t afford the 12 mini with all its flaws. Went with the fraction of a price SE (2020) precisely because it was the only other small option and it had a fingerprint scanner. I value small size, fingerprint scanners, camera quality, storage, and price. I can enjoy iPhones only when they meet those criteria. I’m disappointed they’re not pursuing more minis for future models because they have a lot of room for improvement here.

Android customers never bother about which of their OEMs makes more money! For the business it may be relevant but for Technology that gets obsolete in few 2-3 years in the smartphone world, customers don’t bother investing more than $300 - $600 in Android and yet they get the maximum value for their money, freedom to upgrade anytime without having to worry about blowing their wallets !!

Anonymous, 14 Apr 2021Everything is a gimmick until it reaches on your iPhone.. My iPhone? I have an S10 from work and an OnePlus 8 Pro, I had the chance to spend a few months with the iPhone 11 and I'm definitely jumping on the 13 in October.

I'm literally done with the comment section on this site tbh, I don't know why I had hope people here would have the least bit of common sense in them...

So just to end things correctly, the core difference in why apps stored in RAM behave differently on both operating systems, they compress the app data differently when they're not in focus, it just happens that iOS does it in a more "smart" way (it's quite interesting, if there are people that are aspiring devs, I strongly recommend looking into what approaches/algorithms Apple are using, it's an amazing case study). In other words, even if those gimmicks were present on iOS too (prettu sure some of them are), it wouldn't make a difference, because in the end they are still generic applications at their core, meaning that the memory manager won't treat them differently and they won't have a different impact compared to other apps.

The guy that mentioned all these gimmicks initially (android master lul), fancy words work only on people that are not familiar with the domain
